Question about HP Deskjet D4260 Printer

Printer has suddenly started to flashing

I have an epson D4620. I replaced the ink a couple of weeks ago, have done some printing but now the printer is flashing and will not print.

The printer has the on/off button, two ink drops (the right of which is flashing) and a face holding a picture, finally it has an arrow - usually meaning more paper (but no paper is stuck and more is loaded) this to is flashing.

I took the ink to the place I brought - they checked it and say it is still full.

Nothing has come up on the computer, I have tried to now send a test print but it is not working.

Please can you help - I am trying to print my wedding menu's!!

Thanks
Emily

I had a customer who had the SAME DARN ISSUE with their Epson brand printer. I ended up calling Epson and spoke to a rep on the phone who informed me that the system boards (or whatever you want to call them) are notorious for going bad. Also, they have KNOWN issues with the little metal contacts (where the ink cartridges touch) going bad in them also. The printer can be completely full of ink but if those little contacts have gone on the fritz, it will do no good.

I say you call Epson and fuss a bit... worked for me first try. Epson mailed the customer a brand new one and they got it in TWO days, everything paid... it also came with two ink cartridges of each color too for the trouble and hassle.

Congrats!!

Anyway, looks like your printer has a damaged firmware (internal software).

My advice is to buy a new one... is cheaper than fixing that one.

Best Regards

You have to follow a service Manual to dismatle it. Search here: http://nodevice.com/manual/

Then just clean all small parts and put all together again...

If that doesn't work than you have really to buy a new one...

    Good Luck

Remove both ink cartridges.
Unplug printer.
Wait at least 10 minutes.
Connect printer back into electrical outlet
Turn on printer
Wait until printer stopped
Install both ink cartridges

The printer could be reading the cartidge wrong, if i were you i would just keep using the blue one until you see it stop printing blue on your papers. If it stops quickly, then you probably need to check your printer settings to see if you have it set to print the color black using a mix of your colored ink cartridges.
Thumbs up if this helps! Thanks

Epson Stylus Photo R800 driver ran out of ink weeks ago. Today new ink cartridges arrived. Replaced all cartridges (even the ones that were ok) because the printer's low ink light would not go out until I...

His could be because epson print jets plug up. and usualy cost more to repair than to purchase new printer. i had epson and now buy HP because hp when you replace the ink cartridge the spray jets are incorporated into the cartridge the only thing you have to be carefull of is that somel manufactures now put a chip on the cartridges to expire the units so they can sell you another even if you dont use the ink HP included so look for exp. date on new units. look into food warehouses like sams. costco, Bjs etc. they usualy have good prices on printers. sunday paper is also a good place to look.

My Epson cx7450 ran out of ink a while ago. I

Did you remove the cartridges when it went out of ink? If so, the printer head is clogged. Anyway, If you didn't remove the cartridges and the "a while ago" means "Long time ago", is more likely the printer head is clogged. You may need to run the "cleaning printer head" feature from the printer or replace the printer head.

Inkjet printers should be used frequently to avoid this issue.

Very Faint Printouts

I find the best way to clean the heads is buy some cleaning cartridges as they have cleaning fluid in them and use them to clean it will take about 10 or more times to clean the heads then put the color ones back in and try again.
Just keep putting it on clean the head don't do a print out till at lest you have cleaned 10 or more times.
