I don't understand your solution to my problem ??

  • gfelker Jun 30, 2009

    YES that is correct

  • gfelker Jun 30, 2009

I understand what you have stated.......my phone connects fine and no problems with outgoing calls via (Sync-Bluetooth) when in vehicle., However phone will not ring (will vibrate only) on incoming calls...seems the phone will not transmit the ring signal to Sync-Bluetooth The Sync system will handle the incoming call OK if you happen to be aware the phone is vibrating. ( but this is not very reliable is you have radio on or window down., Any further suggestions ??

Im trying to establish that you are attempting to send a ringtone to your SYNC via bluetooth.

If your phone does not connect automatically, you can easily establish the
connection using the CONNECT BLUETOOTH DEVICE command found in the SYSTEM
    SETTINGS menu.

You may select your mobile phone’s ring tone for SYNC to alert you to incoming
calls. Access SYNC’s main PHONE menu and choose PHONE SETTINGS. Then choose SET
    RINGER.

Additionally - CLICK HERE for an online reference for SYNC

CLICK HERE for your phone owners manual

This is a phone setting that is not correct on Bluetooth (accessory) Ring... not a SYNC problem.

Check all your menus that have a "Always Vibrate" option and make sure it is not selected.

See page 66 (actual) (96PDF) for Sound Settings.

Have you tried pairing another phone? You will find the SYNC is not a phone - it is simply a gateway for a hands-free connection - utilizing the amplifier and speakers to act as your earpiece (a bluetooth headset on a larger scale)

The problem lies in your phone - whether it is unable to ring under a bluetooth connection - or some setting you have disabled (not enabled) on your phone.

Keep looking on your phone - in the manual, etc. for the setting.

Contacting your service provider will enable you to ask direct questions about your particular phone and it's abilities to "ring" in a bluetooth connection.

Some phones just do not. You'rs may be one of them (sounds as if it is) - especially since it IS getting the "ring" signal - but assumes there is a bluetooth headset (now SYNC) paired up.

    Thanks for using FixYa!!

Im trying to sync pics and ringtones to my phone but its not working

if your phone has bluetooth activate it and make it visible. If your PC has bluethooth do the same and it should find the phone automatically. After it does you can send pics and ringtones to the phone from the PC. You can also view the pics/ringtones on your phone, as you do you should have a menu feature to let you send them via bluetooth. Hope this helps.

Iphone ringtone wont play

I had the same problem. I hooked my phone back up to iTunes and synced my phone. Ringtone disappeared from phone, but remained in my computer's iTunes. Then I added it back to my phone through iTunes by syncing ringtones specifically. Here is step by step:
1. Plug in iPhone 2. Sync Phone 3. Click on iPhone, open Ringtones tab 4. Check "Sync ringtones" box and Select your Ringtone 5. Click Sync
This worked for my phone. Hope it helps. I used my phone to download ringtone.

Set a ringtone for a text message SYNC SGH-A707

"My Effect Tones" can only be MMF files. Ringtones can be WAV, MMF, MP3, etc... as long as the file is under 300kb I think. You need to convert your ring tones to MMF to use them as "Text Tones"

Samsung sync cant handle a ringtone half of its supposed capacity?

I'm assuming your trying to change your text ring tone. I to had the same problem. And after a little bit of research I found a really good program. Download "mobile ringtone converter" they will give you a free trial. you can pay for it if u like... wink ...wink... Now after you have the full copy. insert any song you want/ edit it any way you want and when your ready..... (for the sync) save it as a *.*mmf file. when its done just tranfer the new *.*mmf file to your phone (i.e. micro SD) then go to setting's/ profiles/ edit your profile/ scroll over to the text mess. icon/ then select message alert tone/ select- use my alert tone/ then slect- your new *.*mmf file you just made. Assuming you did everything right......BAM! new ring tone! p.s. regular ringtone's Can use *.*mp3 format & *.*mmf format... good luck hope it works for ya!
