Go to your router's ip address either (192.168.2.1, or 192.168.2.254 )

then, login to your router (default: admin, password: admin or blank)

there, look for "settings", and under "wireless network", look for "authentication"

There, you can change the passphrase the way you want.

Hope this helped! ^_^

Should be a reset button on the back or bottom of the router. You'll have to use a paper clip or something similar to push and hold it for five seconds. This will reset it to factory default.

Reset password

When you clickRefresh network list, then Choose your wirelessnetwork and then click Connect to your secured Wireless Network, itwill asks for a Network Key before allowing you to connectinto your wireless network. This Network Key is either the WEP, orWPA or WPA2 Encryption key that is used to configure the Wireless Router. The Passphraseis an alternate way to setup the Encryption key.
When you are requested for a Network Key, you can just enter the Passphrasethat was used to configure the Encryption key in the wireless router.http://www.fixya.com/support/r5270415-network_password_network_addressFor information on securing your wireless network, configuring the wireless router and configuring the wireless card in thelaptop/computer, please click on this link and follow my instructions :-http://www.fixya.com/support/r3559128-wireless_router_security

Just blinks, exelent signal but has a red x in box

Since the router itself has no "RED X", we'll assume that it's the wireless connection icon on the computer that has the red x.
This usually indicates that you have not connected to your (or any) router.
Try temporarily disabling the security in the router, or using a simple security like WEP.
If you are then able to connect, you can attempt more complex securities, or leave it as-is.
If you have forgotten the WEP key or WPA passphrase, reset the router.
Press and hold the reset button on the router for 10 seconds then release.
All lights on the unit will flash, and then the unit will go online (assuming it's connected to your modem).
You should then be able to connect to the router without a passphrase or WEP key.
If this works, you can then move on to securing the connection.

Cant find wep key

Your printer is saying that you should secure your wireless internet. Try resetting the router by holding the reset button located on the back for at least 30 seconds.

Hi I have had to re-boot my laptop and can not get connect to my wireless belkin router it is asking my for a keyphrase

Actually it's asking for a passphrase or network key. Find the small reset button on the back of the router and hold it down with a paper clip or pen tip for 45 seconds. this will reset your network and security settings so can connect without a key or passphrase. Though I would strongly recommend re-securing your network asap.

After installing the router it was working fine. I went in to set up wireless security and now the internet light stays red.

Probably means that the security is turned on, if the wireless doesn't work even after you have entered the right password then press and hold the reset button on the back of the router to restore it to defaults - factory defaults just like it was first powered on.

Security key/ passphrase

The easiest workaround for this is to connect your laptop to the D-Link
with an ethernet cable.

Make sure your laptop IP address is configured for the same subnet
(example: 192.168.0.9)
Open your browser and go to http://192.168.0.1

Default username: user
Default password: (blank)

(This is of course assuming that you did not change your
default username/password)

Once you're in, change the passphrase to anything you want.
