The circular disc you see is the top of a tack switch this can be replaced digikey sells it.
if the switch is just jammed try using a sew pin to push the disc up this may work

PTT button on RDV 2020 is hard to push

This problem is typically caused by small component behind the PTT button being cracked or broken. The RDX series radios respond best if the user presses the PTT button in the center versus the top or bottom sections of the button. Once the button becomes hard to press it is best to get the radio repaired. Commonly if the radio remains in use the PTT issue will get worse as the internal PTT component is pressed harder, pushing it further away from the outside button and eventually loosening it from the component board.

Best regards.

Is it possible to fix a non working PTT button on a RDV2020

The PTT button is one of the common failure parts. It is replaceable, but best done by an experienced repair center.

The following things can happen over time:
1) The internal PTT switch can wear out from frequent usage.
2) The user begins to press harder to get the PTT to work, bending the PTT switch further away from the external button the user is pressing.
3) Plastic diaphram, if any present, gets broken in half, and the external PTT switch doesn't work anymore.

Several companies offer flat rate repair on this style unit for around $85.

Best regards.

The recoerder is off and i am stuck on dvd 1 and cant get it to switch back to dvd 3 even if i hold the enter and 3 button down

Hi scooty69,
First you do is to unplug the cord of your DVD unit for 5 hours in order to drain the stored current, the purpose is to reset the unit. After the 5 hours plug the
DVD see to it if it open If not,just try to press down on the stop button and pressing eject button at same time and it will unlock the tray .Then the other option is to open the cover of the DVD unit and unplug the unit again to avoid electric shock . When open already look for the disc platter moved it outward while driving the gear or simply push out. The drawer or door of the DVD player and you will see a small circular disc which is often called turntable or disc platter.When the disc platter is out push it back and push it out you do this three times so the slider mechanism align it properly.If you do already what i said then plug it again and if works already closed the cover. The slider mechanism, depending on the age of the unit and the manufacturer, consists of the small chrome rail, a drive motor, a small gear assembly, and (in some units) a small belt that drives the slider unit via the motor. This small belt causes all sorts of problems. If the belt is broken or slipping, it can cause skipping, dropouts, or simply no start up at all. Also, if the belt breaks in the middle of the disc, the drive mechanism gets hair or dirt wrapped up into the gears, or the pick-up assembly doesn't return to the start position (called home), the unit will (99% of the time) refuse to release the disc, causing it to become stuck inside the unit. There?s a little micro or leaf type switch located at home position that sometimes gets dirty or breaks and, causing this problem also. Hope it may help you;

Ptt cant be turn ON

hi,

if you can't feel a clicking sound when you press the PTT button, then most probably that the micro switch under it is either get stuck or broken/damage.

Lucky if it only get stuck and need not to change it. just release again the switch and be cautious cause it is small and can be broken easily. you can open your phone using a t6 screw driver and locate the switch inside. it is tricky to change it if it is broken and need tools, spare parts and the skill to replace it cause it is very small. Have it repair to the nearest service center instead.

Hope I helped you...

Don't forget to rate me OK! Thanks....

rgds,
John

Radio stuck in RX mode.

Your PTT button is possibly at fault. It may be partially depressed, leaving your receiver open. Behind your PTT button there is an internal PTT button on the componet board. It may be stuck or defective.

Cx80 stuck in rx mode , power cycled, swapped batteries, changed channels, will only swtich to tx when ptt button pressed, otherwise always in rx mode, other radio from package works fine

But thats how a walkie talkie works, it stays in Receive Rx mode UNTIL you press the PTT button,, then it Transmits Tx, and when released it goes back to Rx, receive?

Playing new fifa2010 on x boxx 360. working ok and then froze stating ''clean with soft cloth'' tried this but unsuccessful

Check to see if there are any scratches or laser burn marks on the discs. Scratches or marks on discs will render the game discs unplayable or will freeze the game and will often show a message stating “Disc Read Error”. Best remedy for starters is to clean the discs and make sure there are no scratches or marks left on the play-side of the discs.
Laser burn, looks like complete or partial circular scratches around your disc, also known as “the ring of death”. This occurs to discs when the games console has been moved whilst playing, from an upright to a horizontal position or vice versa or simply knocked against or the wires may have been just tripped upon. Discs are then impaired by a ring of laser burn, which is a circular scratch into the disc. Some home remedies may help with very light scratches on some discs but professional disc repair services is normally rerquired to restore disc laser burn damage back to "As Good As New Condition".

When I turn on the radio the indicator light on the top of the unit just flashes. I cannot set the frequency or code. When I push the monitor button I hear static but otherwise the radio is dead.

The flashing light can be an indication there is activity on the frequency the radio is set to. Pressing the monitor button should give you the white noise (static) sound, so this function is working correctly. This also tells us your speaker is working fine, as well as your volume. The typical reason you cannot go into programming mode (when you hold the PTT in while turning on the radio and hear the female voice announce your frequency) is a bad or moved internal PTT switch. This typically happens over time as a user presses ever harder on the PTT to communicate. However, this does not explain why you are not receiving. This could simply be a result of an incorrect PL code in conjunction with the bad PTT. If you have a frame removal tool, you can extract the component board and physically look at the internal PTT. You can then hold in the very small button and program the radio to the frequency/PL you desire. If you are needing the radio repaired, you can get this style unit repaired for around $69 flat rate
