My five year old Sony projection TV suddenly started going between a good picture and color (R+G+B), thin, varying horizontal bars. Sound is fine. I disconnected the cable box, etc. so that CATV now goes directly to the TV, but no change. Prior to that test I tried a DVD and it worked fine, but the problem returns when back on CATV. Seems to be horrible when cold (~95% of the time), and less when warm (~25%, after 15 minutes or so). Thanks for your help!

- Thanks.
"which should fix"-- do you (or other readers) know for sure it will?
The pictures show the result of a bad terminal input board. You can verify this by checking the inputs. Connect devices to the board and try different inputs. You will most likely find this problem on the tuner and component input were your DVI and composite video will be ok. If it is the same on all inputs replace the A board
You can get the SONY type 1 convergence repair kit which should fix that issue at the following link. The repair kit contains the components plus installation instructions on CD. http://www.tvrepairkits.net/

- No thats not a convergence issue you will need either the terminal input board or the A board

Our picture is visible but is in blue tint. How much is that to fix, around? Is there anything beside checking cables, already done, that I could try. Oh, and I don't have a remote.
