Question about HP OfficeJet 7110 All-In-One Thermal Printer

1 Answer

HP OfficeJet 7110xi

Every scan or two (or fax out) the scanner will give the "Scanner Failure: Please turn off and back on the printer" error on its screen. I've checked the internal cabling to ensure it is plugged in securely, the power is from a reliable source, and I have done the semi-full reset and gone through all the instructions per http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docname=c00787271&cc=us&lc=en&dlc=en&product=91475

Any final ideas? It seems to work fine until it gives that error, and upon restarting it, it works fine again. This happens regardless of machine it is attatched to.

Finally you can try a reset on the macj\hine using the # and the number 6 buttons(holding them down and then plugging in the power cord at the back of the machine). If it still gives the same error..try the same with the # and 9...same problem comes up....service the printer

Scanner failure-no longer prints

Hi, I'll give your situation a "stab in the dark" solution. It sounds like you are in the final stages of "scanner system failure". The beginning stages usually limits the all-n-1 to print only i.e., no scan and no fax but you may have such a severe scanner bulb situation that is preventing the print function and may be causing hazardous conditions within your printer and it will do nothing to prevent further harm or damage. Can you describe your situation a bit more detailed?

HP Officejet 6310 scans once but then says scanner failure

hi,

that error message is nothing to do with the software part, it actaully hardware issue try the following,

1) unplug the machine and connect it to wall outlet directly,
2) unplug the power cord from the printer and press and hold ON for 1 min and release the ON button and plug it back..
3) Disconnect the power cord from the product.Press and hold # and 6 while reconnecting the power cord to the product, and then release both buttons and if printer turns off, turn it back ON and wait until it cmopletes its instialization and if still persists, it a hardware failure...............

Office Jet K60xi Scanner Failure

Try HP's web site suggestions first.
http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docname=c01077492&cc=us&lc=en&dlc=en&product=61736

If your sacnner still fails to function, uninstall everything for the Officejet through add/remove in control panel. (Power off printer before uninstalling).
Go to Hp's web site. http://welcome.hp.com/country/us/en/welcome.html#Support
Step 1. Click, Download drivers and software (and firmware).
Go to step 2. For product, type in Officejet k60xi .
Power on your printer. (Wait for printer to fully power on).
Click, Start Detection>> button.
Allow HP to scan your system & install the latest software.
Follow the on scren instructions. (When finished, restart your PC). Test your scanner by scanning something.
If your scanner still fails to scan, you may be missing basic HP files loaceted in windows system & windows system32 folders.
(These missing files were not installed during your install of windows). Not your fault.

After hours of trying things.I found this and it worked. The scanner button doesn't work, but at least I can scan.

  2. Click File, and then click Import from Camera or Scanner.
  3. In the Import Pictures and Videos window, click the scanner that you want to use, and then click Import.

HP Officejet 7130 "Scanner Failure"

Scanner failure usually means you'll have to replace the entire scanner unit.

When the machine turns on (or gets plugged in), does anything happen...any lights come on?

Is the machine able to print from the computer and recieve faxes while the scanner error is present?  If so, you probably need a scan unit.
