LG fridge/freezer rumbling/vibrating sound

Freezer is making the same vibrating sound, but stops when the door is open? There is a lg. build up of ice on back wall. Thoughts?

Thanks- Now, another question. Should I try the hair dryer to get rid of the ice build up. It is my mom's fridge, she passed away and we can find no manuals. Just trying to avoid a repairman!

Check your defrost components. The fan is hitting the frost buildup and will shut off when the door is opened so as to not circulate the warm air. The heater or the timer is not doing a proper defrost cycle.

There is buildup behind the back panel also. Hairdryer will work, but it will only be temporary until you get the defrost circuit working again.Sorry to hear of your loss. Eric

Fixed in my unit by changing the motor of the small ventilation fan. It's located behind the freezer drawer. Not expensive (around 30$) but a bit tough to reach.

LG 262SQA Model fridge cannot cool

That does not look like an LG model number, but regardless, it sounds like the defrost system is not working, allowing frost to build up and block air flow over the cooling coils in the freezer (where all the cooling for the entire refrigerator takes place). Take back panel off inside freezer, melt frost / ice with a hair blower. Test for continuity through defrost heater and replace if "open". If it was OK, problem could be deftost control, or as simple as a door not fully closed at some time, allowing excessive frost build up.

When doors are opened it stops. Ice is forming unnaturally in the

It sounds like you may have a bad evaporator fan motor or broken blade.

Another cause could be a failed defrost system component. The would cause a build up of ice and frost and the fan blade could be coming in contact with the frost or ice.

The fan stops running when the doors are opened on this model to prevent the circulation of warm air.

Buzzing sound

If noise stops when you open the door, you may have a noisy fan (or could have ice build up, causing fan blade to hit ice and cause noise). I gather it is a frost-free model ie has a fan in the freezer compartment. If noise is caused by fan hitting ice build up, you may have a problem with the auto defrost system, as you should not get ice build up in a frost free.
Noise stops when you open door because fan turns off when door is opened.

Lg fridge freezer model gr-s352gca fault

Buy another brand. LG are cheap and nasty when it comes to whitegoods even though the price tag is still up there. I have done nothing but research for my next fridge and i might go with the same brand as i have had for the past ten years and have not had a single problem.(it is definately not a LG of Samsung or one of these other brands that have all the advertising and have only been around for a little while)

Freezer defrost LG american style

Defrost the unit for two days with the doors open...I know you're going to lose your contents. You may have ice on the coils internally. Next make sure you've cleaned the external coils under the unit. Leaving liquids open inside the unit or setting it colder than required will both cause issues like the ones you've got. Also, be sure all air vents inside the unit are unblocked and the door closes tightly all around.
