Step one: Reset the camera

  1. If you have an optional memory card installed, remove it. (Although removing an optional memory card is not necessary for performing the reset, it eliminates the memory card as a possible cause of the problem.)
  2. Remove all power sources (batteries and AC power) from the camera for at least 5 seconds.
  3. Reinsert the batteries and close the Battery/Memory card door and/or reconnect the HP AC power adapter to the camera.
  4. After verifying that the camera works without an optional memory card, reinsert the card, if you have one.
Try to turn the camera on. If it now works properly, the camera experienced a temporary electrical problem and should now work properly.

Check the batteries. Use good quality bateries for these digital cameras. I would highly recommend good quality rechargeables.

Remove the batteries. Wait at least sixty seconds before reinstalling the batteries and turning the camera on.

You may want to print out the page or write down what you need to do and stick it in your camera case for future reference.

Good Luck! : )

Camera will not turn on.

Connect the camera to the charger. If it works while connected to the charger you need a new battery.

Not turning on

The batteries probably need to be replaced. Be sure that any batteries seat properly and tightly. You may have to tape the battery door shut with strong tape to keep the contact tight. This type of damage is expensive to repair compared to the cost of the cameras. You can take it in and have it looked at, but be sure to get an estimate and then you can make an educated decision on whether to repair or replace it.

Best wishes to you and Thank you for using Fix Ya!

My camera will not turn off !!!!!

WOW: All three Solutions Work Fine.
I Removed the 6 small bolts and took the camera apart.
lifted the tape and cleaned the contacts u;nder the tape with alcohol, let them dry then replaced the tape, lineing up the contacts on the tape with the ones on the body of the camera. Put the camera back together and put back the 6 bolts, inserted the batteries and presto: the camera worked. Thanks for the info , it really worked. Wes Reed
