Question about NorStar M7310 Corded Phone
I hooked up a phone in the office on an extended line from another area and all of the memory buttons automatically worked, but the phone doesn't ring even after using feature *6 selecting a ring, and pressing ok.
in addition, when i know it's ringing because of the other phones making the noise, I go to pick it up and it automatically puts me on a new line rather than answering the call. I can select the line the new call is and answer it that way, but that doesn't always work because the calls on hold look the same as new calls. what can i do to change the settings?
i want the phone to ring when someone calls and to pick up the phone and be automatically connected to the customer
You can look at the manual here:

You need the set the line appearances on the station. this is done in config programming. Set you station to have lines to "ring and appear"

Save hours of searching online or wasting money on unnecessary repairs by talking to a 6YA Expert who can help you resolve this issue over the phone in a minute or two.
Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.

The easiest thing to do is use Direct Pickup Feature.
When the phone is ringing dial Feature 76
Dial internal number of a phone that is ringing (also refered as extension number)
You just answered a ringing phone at your desk.
If you have login information for Feature **config, I can help you set up your phone to be ringing as well.
