The city turned off the water to fix a main line and then turned the water back on. The first time I started the washer after this happened, I heard a loud pop noise and the water began gushing into the washing machine. It wouldn't stop. Turned off the water. The machine drained and ran its next cycle until it came to the RINSE cycle. Turned the water back on for the rinse, but it gushed in again. It does drain. Does anyone know what may have happened?

After repairing the pipeline it's inevitable that some debris/stones/cement etc. would find it's way into your machine. Even though there is (or should be) a filter in the water input hose, I'd guess that the water pressure was so high that some debris damaged the electrically operated solenoid valve which controls the water input flow. A mechanical problem then, with possibly some associated electrical fault. If you can get the machine out, I suggest unscrewing the inlet hose and having a look at the valve - they're usually easy to get to. But please DISCONNECT THE ELECTRICAL SUPPLY AND WATER first.

SOURCE: my asko regardless of selected wash program stops

When your rinse cycle does not work it is your outlet filter that is clogged. If this is a front loader the small door is in the bottom front side of machine. Be prepared for some water to come out when u open the door. Unscrew and clean out filter and refit.

Also please note
with the Asko there are several possible things that can interupt the cycle either during wash or drain/spin. Have you checked the pump insert/button trap for debris or obstruction of any kind ? ( below main door to the left ) Are you using "he" ( lo-sudsing ) detergent ? Does the machine provide any error code, i.e. If it's a mechanical timer model does it stop at "C" or "S" or if electronic a symbol in the display ? Will it complete a cycle without any items in the basket ( empty ) ? Will the unit rotate in both directions and will it spin if you try both parts of that specific cycle ? This will help determine if the problem is with the drive motor brushes.

My GE washer was on when the water supply was shut off by the city to fix a leak in the street and now all it does is say H20 Supply. I had to unplug it to get it to stop. When I plug it back in, it d

turn off the cold water supply at the valve, disconnect the cold water hose and check the screen on the ends of the hose if there is one; also check the screen (and there is one here) on the back of the machine for sediment from the water line from when the city turned the water off. City water leak rep airs cause the sediment in the bottom of the pipe to be stirred up when the water is turned back on, and the screen in the solenoid valve is doing it's job by catching this stuff hen the water comes back on. Clean the screen and the problem will most likely go away.

For 3-4 months now in MN Loud Banging Noise at night only.

I've seen anti-back flow valves act in this way. The valve allows water to flow in 1 direction only. So if water comes into your supply line from the city, it doesn't allow that water to back feed from your house back to the cities water supply. This was on a commercial building but these valves may be used in residential if you have city codes that call for it, or a water circulation system in the home. The sound is like a popping or banging sound, coming from water lines that "chatter" against each other or against the wall/studs. Like a little monkey with a hammer banging away!?? I can't think of any gas line regulators that may "pop off" but I know they have a vent action, not sure on that. I bet you have a water line(s) chattering. If the city has a anti-back flow/anti blow back(different lingo for different people), they may be able to help answer your question. Or a good plumber could help. If you know where your water supply comes inside, you may be able to see the water line enter a large brass valve with some caps/open on bottom to vent. But there are many different kinds so I would be guessing to what you have, if you have. Or, if it is a water line, it may be chattering for some other reason, again a plumber. And do your neighbors hear anything like it too? If so it may be on the city? Hope this helps!

Neptune MAH55FLBWW front load washer LR code

LR = Locked (main motor) Rotor and very likely a new motor will be needed but the only way to know for sure is to do some electrical testing with a volt/ohm meter and the wiring diagram located within the appliance.

Hot Water Overflow

Do you have an expansion tank tank  in the line leading into water heater? If not what is happening is that the water is no longer allowed to go back into the city supply.  You said that you had turned it off while you left so the water heats up and has no place to go so the preasure/ temperature P/T valve  opens and lets out the excess water from the expanded supply (heater water) that has no where else to go. It used to be that the extra expanded water just backed up into the supply pipe and back into the main. That is no longer possible in most places by the  National Plumbing code.    The answer may be to install the expansion tank into the incoming line. You can see then now at  all hardware stores where water heaters are sold.

Washing machine will not fill w/ hot or cold water

Could be an air lock in the water pipes, turn off the water to the washer, disconnect the hoses, and hold them over the sink or into a bucket, then turn the water taps back on to the washer.
The water should come through at full pressure.,
If it does not , then the problem is with your supply and not the washer.
Hope this helps.
Plz leave feedback.

Hi i dont know the model of the dishwasher.. but the controls are fairly staright forward... a little knob for temperatur control and an on/off button.. and a light that lights up green when dishwasher is...

It sounds like your washer is not getting enough water to start. If your washing machine is filling too slowly or not at all, then you probably have a clogged screen on the back of your washer. To check this:
  1. Turn off the water supplies(both hot and cold).
  2. Remove the hoses at the back of the washer. Check the screens for debris(i.e. rust, dirt, scale, etc.) The screens will be pushed into the back of the washer where the water enters the washer. Debris can come from a variety of places: #1 Deposits coming off the sides of your pipes.(Older homes) #2 Repairs done to your plumbing lines, or the cities lines.
  3. If these screens are clear of debris, I would then check the water flow out of the hoses. Take each hose with the end pointing into a bucket, and turn on the water to allow a full flow. This will also flush each line of debris.
  4. Reinstall the hoses and turn on the water supplies.
There could also be a number of reasons that there would not be full flow out of the supply lines: #1 Debris stopping up the line at the shut-off is one of the main causes.

If you have debris stopping up your screens and shut-offs, it will most likely stop up your aerators on your faucets, and your shower heads too. It is also suggested that you check these.

If you are getting debris in all these items, I would recommend that your lines get flushed. You can do this, but many times it is easier to have a plumber do this. If you do not know what you are doing, it can get very wet, and time consuming.
