Front wheel shakes bad

Hi,food for thought, have you checked that the wheele bearing is not worn(put bike on centre stand hold wheele on tyre 6 clock and pull with one hand and push with other hand)and see if you can feel eney play in the bearing,if so replace, also with bike still on back wheele spine wheele and see if it pins freely and that the discs are not warped,if not then if there is a fork brace check that it is tight ,check that the head racers are not loose or worn, with bike still on centre stand hold weele with one hand and front brake with other hand push and pull with wheele strate towards and away from bike and feel for play if there is try tightening,if not, then turn front forks left and right still holding the forks and wheele in same place do this slowly and when the wheele gose past the centre piont(strate)feel for eney notchy ness,if not bearing should be ok,if there is notchy ness replace,if its none of these I would get the wheele rechecked that it was balanced right, all the best hope you get to the bottom of the problem.

Replace front wheel

Hi Anonymous, start by jacking up the front end of the bike until the front wheel is about 6 inches off the ground. Have an assistant hold the handle bars and steady the bike during this procedure. Safely with wood block the frame and front wheel, let the jack down until all the weight is on the blocks. Remove calipers from fork leg brackets and let hang or use bungie cords to hold them out of the way, do not pull in brake lever while calipers are off. Remove axle nut and washers, loosen right fork slider axle cap nuts and with a long screw driver or drift take a mallet and bang out axle from left to right. Remove block under wheel then remove the wheel. Replace in reverse order, tighten slider cap nuts then axle nut to 50-55 ft lbs. Loosen slider cap nuts to allow right fork to find its center then retighten cap nuts to 15 ft lbs. of torque. Re-install calipers and torque bolts to 28-38 ft lbs. Jack up bike remove blocks, pump front brake lever and your good to go. Good luck

Big ben moonbeam alarm not sounding

The later alarm trip assemblies - the one in which the cam on the trip staff is a steel disc with a cutout, and the trip wheel is steel with a stamped out projection - can be troublesome. I had so much trouble with these parts on a 1970 Big Ben leg model reproduction that I replaced them with the old style trip assembly having the brass finger on the trip staff and a brass trip wheel. This solved the problem of the trip staff being carried around with the trip wheel.

No brakes at rear wheel of my 2005 standard goldwing. Had a new rear tire(screw/nail) put on and the service man told me.I normally slow down slow enough to use front brakes.I had installed full foot...

Try putting the bike on the center stand and get the front wheel off the ground with a floor jack. Spin the front wheel by hand and press on the rear brake pedal. The front wheel should stop. Likewise with the bike on the center stand and the rear wheel off the ground you should be able to lock the rear wheel with the foot pedal. On many Goldwings the rear pedal also operates one front disc. This is for people that refuse to use there front brakes to stop or slow there bike (80% to 90% of your stopping power is the front brake). Try bleeding the entire system front and back, you may just have air in the system. If the rear brake still does not work you may have a bad delay valve in the system. If you need to take the bike in to a shop, try to find a mechanic that is familiar with the system so they do not replace parts unnecessarily. That way you minimize your shop time and maximize your riding time.

I have a puncture in my front wheel of my Suzuki FXR150 2001

Lift the front wheel, use jack or put something under the exhaust. Loosen the front wheel nut and pull out the bolt. Pull out the speedometer cap. Pull out the wheel. Now you got your front wheel off your bike. The rear wheel is harder to handle. You can bring the wheel to bike workshop or you can do it yourself provided that you got all the tools.

Removal of front wheel

Simply undo the axle nut and slide out the axle bolt. You might need to take out the split pin if your bike has one.
