Dvd color mostly blue and pink, colors look weird

Watching satellite tv picture color is fine but when I put in a dvd the color is always more pronounced blue and pink hues...I shift the colors manually on the tv to somewhat compensate but the picture is not just right, but the problem always reoccurs...what am I missing? I have checked the cables connecting the dvd to the Hitachi Plazma Tv and they appear to be just fine.

Try connecting thru an hdmi cable from your dvd player to your tv, check the colors then.. I'd say you have crossed your component cables.. match the connector letters a/b/x? and plug them in one after each other.

Hi Joe

I would try a different DVD player to see if the DVD player is the problem. Or change the DVD to a different Video input on the Hitachi as a troubelshooting method. Let me know what you find, and I will try to assist you in getting a solution to your problem.

Hi,Would you pls check the connection that you have made between TV and DVD player..?
2xRCA (white+Red) will go to Audio IN sockets of TV in addition to 1xRCA Yellow video cable goes to "Video IN socket of TV..
if the connections are right than you must select the right source on TV ,as AV1 ,AV2 which corresponds to the cable input sockets of your TV.

does the menu comes on? if so- check that you are not set on Audio only.
also- make sure you select the source to be Cable/DVD/Satellite or whatever you are trying to watch and make sure it is turned on.

No blue colors projected on screen

Only a few causes for this problem. "Splotches" are usually caused by dust in the light engine which can sometimes be blown out using compressed air. Pink picture is caused by either data or burnt lcd card. Procedure for data is: put tv to ch. 3 and turn power off. simultaneously press input and power on set for three seconds to access service menu. Be very careful not to change settings other than what needs changed. These adjustments are changed using directional arrows. Navigate to "memory init" then hold (r) arrow button for 5 seconds. You will know if it worked. Then exit and/or turn set off. Please let me know if this is successful as I have additional info you may need. Good luck, Russmann.

Dvd screen is pink

If you are using component cables to connect the DVD to the tv make sure you have the red, blue and green colors on your cables matching these colored jacks on the tv and DVD jacks. If one of these cables is plugged in wrong or not plugged in it could cause this. Good Luck

Color of people's faces in movies played via DVD is now blue since connected to LCD TV

The reason the picture is blue on the DVD is because you have poor video cables running the feed, probably RCA yellow cable im guessing. Get some nice component cables for the DVD feed and it will fix you right up.
