Cut off the a/c and run just the fan til the frost is completly gone. Restart and check in 15 minutes. Poor airflow, low refrigerant, or metering device problems are the cause of frozen indoor coils.
Clean the filter at least once a month. These units normally are sealed refrigerant circuits and do not have ports for gauges to add refrigerant- just like your refrigerator. Cars and whole home a/c's do.

if your system is a heat pump you can switch to heat and see if coil outside gets cold while indoor blows warm air - then switch back to a/c - both coils should not be cold at the same time - low freon pressure / dirty coil / dirty filter / low air flow causes freezing

Ac turning on and off

How did they check the freon in the home? You can feel the front(evaporator coil)coil on all four sides. Are you sure the motor is running fast enough? If the four corners do not feel cold in about 5 minutes or so, there is a compressor problem, Capillary tube blockage, moisture in the system or you are low of freon. Good Luck
