Could be a couple things, possible bad video card, bad cable, bad monitor, or configuration issue.

Do you have another computer you can hook the monitor to and see if it has the same issue? If so then it is either the monitor or the cable. If it does look the same on both computers you could try a new monitor cable (as long as the monitor allows you to easily disconnect the one currently attached).

Please let me know what you find.

I have a thin yellow line running from top to bottom about 10 inches from the left side, what's wrong?
This can be due to faulty LCD driver IC which creates a noise bar and is shown. Check the cords to the display and also the ground connection to the display. If this is good then the IC can be faulty.

That's the sign of someone using a cleaning solution on the LCD. When cleaning LCDs, it's important to keep solution away from the edges. I use electronics wipes.

The Plasma driver chip driving the centre portion has failed.

My samsung lcd tv when i turn it on has a light black blurr down the center and a solid black bar about an inch wide on the right hand part of the screen, from top to bottom, but the weird thing is 10mins...

I have a 42' LG plasma that has now has a 1 1/2 inch verticle stripe on the right side. It used to come and go but now rarely goes away. Any ideas?
I believe that this could be a type of "burn in". If you watch anything with a black stripe on the sides or bottom of the screen often, then this could be the problem. My suggestion is to watch things that have no black side bars for a while (>week) and see if this eliminates the problem.

Darker fatter letters every 2 inches apart from top to bottom
it is called phase you can attempt to let the lcd monitor auto set or you can disconnect the power over night then plug in and then do not auto set this default usually seems best some times

Dell 2001FP can't change input modes The Dell 2001FP started switching between input modes at random without any buttons being pushed. For a while I could change it back to the desired mode, but now it's stuck on one input mode (3: S-Video) and won't allow selection. The buttons on the control board make a nice click but will not change mode nor open menu. At power-on the screen shows the Dell UltraSharp welcome message, but then goes blank. If I press the input mode button and the menu button together the screen shows me the message saying 'No input signal'. The screen never gives the floating 4-color self-test box. Strangely, two input mode lights are illuminated (both 3: S-Video and 4:Composite) instead of just one as you'd expect This happens regardless of whether or not it is connected to any video cables. Any suggestions?
