I would say you need to look at the average avi connections on most stuff.

You mentioned that the JVC DVD player worked fine with the TV that has scart lead, but the video/display won't work with the TV that does NOT have a scart lead, right?

Does your JVC DVD player has a scart lead port for the video/display and requires a TV that has scart lead? If the answer is YES, you need to use a Scart-RCA adapter so that you could connect your other TV.

But if the JVC and the TV have RCA connections only, I believe that it has something to do with the physical connection only or with the TV settings. Please check the following:

1. Make sure that the RCA cables are connected to the A / V (Audio/Video) OUTPUT of your JVC DVD player.

2. Connect the other end of the RCA cable to the A / V INPUT of your TV.

3. If the RCA is connected to the A/ V 1 OUTPUT, you have to set the TV to A / V 1 also

Please let me know about the result

Have a good one!

I have an AKAI SS-3800 home theatre system which connects to my DVD player by 6 cables to get 5.1 surround sound. Can it be connected to a bluray player to get 5.1 surround sound

Most DVD (and Blu-Ray) players have digital 5.1 audio outputs and some (like yours) also have analog outputs for electronics that lack a digital audio input (*).

I can't get a description (or picture) of the inputs beyond its having two, one 5.1 and one stereo. No mention of digital. Even at the lame akai site.

http://www.akai.com/product_detail.asp?id=3&id2=20&id3=58

* Like the Akai SS-3800 ??

So if the BD has 5.1 analog outs, yes, it will connect the same way as the DVD. Otherwise, you're limited to stereo analog audio (yuk).

We have run our indoor/outdoor wireless speaker through our home theater system and the only sound we can get is in tuner mode. We are trying to run our tv through the speaker, any suggestions?

connect audio out from tv to audio in(aux in) on the theater, select aux on theater and you should get sound.
If you have no audio out on tv, use skart 2 (av2 au2 or how ever it's marked as most tv's send audio/video out through av2).
You can buy any comination leads to connect(skart to phono etc)

Connecting TV, Sky box & DVD player

If it's just an DVD Player, the easist way is just run a skart lead from the player out socket to the spare skart (ext2) on the TV. Then choose ext2 on your TV remote.
