If you look at the very bottom of the front of the joystick, you will see something the is sorta like a wheel. pull the tab up to increase the throttle, vise versa to slow down.

Error codes 2101 and 1516 on my 2004 chevy trailblazer

DTC P2101-
The commanded throttle position (TP), based on accelerator pedal position (APP) and possibly other limiting factors, is compared to the actual TP. The 2 values should be within a calibrated range of each other. Both the powertrain control module (PCM) and the throttle actuator control (TAC) module redundantly monitor the commanded and actual TP. This DTC sets if the PCM detects an out-of-range condition between commanded and actual throttle position.
DTC P1516
The predicted throttle position (TP) is compared to the actual throttle position. The two values should be within a calibrated range of each other. Both the powertrain control module (PCM) and the throttle actuator control (TAC) module redundantly monitor the predicted and actual throttle position. This DTC sets if the PCM detects an out of range condition between the predicted and actual throttle position.

Lacks power after 1/2 throttle also knock on motor after 1/2 throttle

it may all be in the carby settings
if you do not have it adjusted correctly then it may be running too lean at full throttle and that is causing a problem such as detonation causing the knock
start it and slowly adjust the settings as you increase the throttle settings

take it in to a service center for a proper diagnosis and quote

Settings for a mikuni carb t-40

Hi Anonymous, with engine at normal operating temperature idle speed is 950-1050 RPM and air fuel mixture screw (if unsealed) is 1/2-3/4 turns out from bottom, if sealed it's already pre-set. There is a throttle stop screw by the throttle cable ends that with the throttle wide open so the butterfly plate must be perfectly horizontal. Good luck

1998 Kia sportage shows no codes but will start and idle although sounds labored, but will accept no throttle response. You can ease into it and some times it will accelerate

probley your throttle position sensor should have shown a code. try disconecting the pig tail and put it back tap on the side a little if theres any change to your problem then its probley the sensor .if your going to tinker aroud dont mess with the throttle set screw. leave it alone your throttle position sensor gets set from that screw wich the screw itself gets set while on the computer.also check to make sure the cable is okay and hooked to the throttle arm have your assistant press down the peddal as you hold the cable making sure the cable is not snapped if its not make sure the cable pulls the throttle arm back and forth .best i have to offer

How do you set up the idle on a '93 Mazda Protege? It was easy to do on the old carburater cars.

Idles are preset ,and not adjustable on fuel injection, but look where the throttle cable attaches to the throttle, and where the throttle sets, there might be a screw with a lock nut,and will allow some setting, but not much, cause the throttle position sensor does this threw the computer. The throttle position sensor is on the throttle,on the opposite side of where the throttle cables attach. If this was helpful, then please rate, thank you.

Where is the location of throttle actuator control module on a v6, 2006 gmc envoy? I believe it may be a reason why my vehicle will not crank. I got DTC: P1516 on a code reader. My brake is locked-in. I...

The commanded throttle position is compared to the actual throttle position based on accelerator pedal position (APP) and possibly other limiting factors. Both values should be within a calibrated range of each other. The powertrain control module (PCM) continuously monitors the commanded and actual throttle positions. This DTC sets if the values are greater than the calibrated range.
DTC Descriptor This diagnostic procedure supports the following DTC:
DTC P1516 Throttle Actuator Control (TAC) Module Throttle Actuator Position Performance
Conditions for Running the DTC • The ignition is ON. • The ignition voltage is greater than 8 volts. • The system is not in the battery save mode. • The engine is running. • DTC P0068 is not set. • DTC P1516 runs continuously when the above conditions are met. Conditions for Setting the DTC • The difference between the predicted and the actual throttle position is more than a calibrated amount. • The above condition is present for more than 0.5 second. Action Taken When the DTC Sets • The control module illuminates the malfunction indicator lamp (MIL) when the diagnostic runs and fails. • The control module records the operating conditions at the time the diagnostic fails. The control module stores this information in the Freeze Frame and/or the Failure Records. • The control module commands the TAC system to operate in the Reduced Engine Power mode. • A message center or an indicator displays Reduced Engine Power. • Under certain conditions the control module commands the engine OFF. Conditions for Clearing the MIL/DTC • The PCM turns OFF the MIL after 3 consecutive drive trips that the diagnostic runs and passes. • A History DTC clears after 40 consecutive warm-up cycles in which there are no failures reported of this diagnostic or any other emission related diagnostic. • The scan tool clears the MIL/DTC. Diagnostic Aids The throttle valve is spring loaded to a slightly open position. The throttle valve should be open approximately 20 percent. This is referred to as the rest position. The throttle valve should not be completely closed nor should they be open any more than the specified amount. The throttle valve should move open and to the closed position without binding under the normal spring pressure. The throttle should NOT be free to move open or closed WITHOUT spring pressure. Replace the throttle body if any of these conditions are found.
Important: Operating the throttle blade with the Throttle Blade Control function of the scan tool may cause additional DTCs to set. Do not attempt to diagnose DTCs set during this function.
The scan tool has the ability to operate the throttle control system using Special Functions. Actuate the throttle valve using the throttle blade control function located in the Throttle Actuator Control (TAC) System menu. This function will operate the throttle valve through the entire range in order to determine if the throttle body and system operate correctly

Need to know how to set throttle so it will only go so fast.

HELLO; If I understand you right you are looking for a way to set the limit on the throttle, right? If so it's easy, there should be a set screw on the throttle houseing with a jam nut loosen the nut and turn in the machine screw while pushing on the thumb butterfly. Set it and ride it around and see if you are happy with the speed, if so thghten the jam nut and your set. GOOD LUCK.....GREASY

How do i install the inner throttle cable on a 1973 flh and get the length right?

If you're talking about the old style throttle cable that is internal of the handlebar, it's pretty straight forward. Remove the throttle grip, the rollers and pin for the plunger. Pull the plunger out bringing the old throttle cable with it or at least out far enough to loosen the small set screws that lock the cable in. Now, run the new cable through the outer housing. put the end of new cable into the plunger and tighten the set screws. Replace plunger into the handlebar, replace pin and rollers, replace throttle grip. Now, set the throttle to full closed posititon. Move carb throttle lever to full closed position. With throttle cable through clamp tighten screw securing cable. Check for proper operation of throttle mechanism.

Only runs on full throttle

Are you saying full throttle, or full choke? if full throttle, you should be able to set the idle up. the idle screw will be the one when you give it gas, it will be the screw on you'r throttle linkage. If full choke, maybe the spark arrestor is plugged. You can remove it by removing the muffler. It would be between the muffler and cylinder head. You don't need this to run.I hope any thing I posted will help.
