Question about Hand Tools

1 Answer

I have a 2004 DPC 6400 Makita/type325--62825 cut off saw,so far, I have replaced the ring-the pot and piston are A1-the ring that replaced the old one is a lot wider if you like, the carb has had a new kit--problem-the saw will fire and run for a short time after choke etc, then it suddenly dies as if fuel isn't getting through, then the saw will not fire at all until left for 10 mins. After this the saw won't even fire-The orginal problem was that the pot srews had vibrated loose ,which made the pot have little compression-also there has been a new pot gasket fitted. I have adjusted the carb diaphram so many times its dizzy, also this takes time, the carb is hidden under everything and has to be striped down. The saw has been used 3 days a week, tops, and then there could be days, weeks when not used ---Help please.

Ive got a Makita concrete saw DPC 7311,it says a mix of 100:1 but thats alot ?

The manual says to mix it 100:1 if using Makita high performance oil or 50:1 using regular Makita 2 stroke oil. I'd go 50:1 with non Makita oil too.

Here is a site to download a pdf manual if you need it.

Sometimes the cylinder can be salvaged with muratic acid. Piston kits are quite reasonable.

I have a makita dpc6410 disc cutter.it has a good spark and i have cleaned the carb and pressure tested the carb and the needle is holding and i have fitted a new fuel filter.it will fire up and run flat...

after servicing the carb,do u retune it?
blacking around the piston is no big deal for a small engine,as long as the piston rings are in order or in other words it still has compression.

check the fuel supply..
the tank should be airtight...
it is a diaphragmed carby...
