W580 camera to memory stick?

-   i am having the same problem with my w580 not reading my memory card, except mine wont work it keeps saying "insert memory card" it has been this way for about a week now.. ive tried everything. please help!-   the misfit

-   I have the same problem but in my experience it's not limited to the camera.
From time to time the phone will not recognize/read the memory stick. For example if I enter the File Manager and select the memory stick, the phone reports "No Files" and I'm certain there are files on it.
If I remove then reinsert the memory stick or turn the phone off then on, the memory stick works fine until the problem starts happening again after a random amount of time.
This problem is a pain since the phone will try to save file transfers and pictures to the memory stick by default.
If for example I am using a theme saved in the memory stick the phone goes nuts and reverts to the default theme.
I tried formatting the memory stick using the option from the phone itself. The problem stopped but returned after a while.
Will try to use the software that came with the phone. Other than that I have not found a permanent solution yet and don't want to take it to service and have to wait a week for the people there to check it and say "there's nothing wrong with my phone" which is what happens most of the time.-   Guest
