Is ur check engine light on? if so theres a problem related to a sensor, if not it should be the idle valve, placed on your throttle body
if ur engine is a x18xe the valve is possible to replace, if its a x18xe1 the valve comes with the throttle body and needs to be replaced as a whole , it might help to clean it up though...it must be checked
hope this helps
have fun

Vauxhall vectra problems wy whant my car rev past 4000rpm

the problem may be in the cam automatic adjustment device on the end of the cam shaft. Sometimes this can be recorded in the fault codes . They do wear out and do not advance /retard the cam timing as they are supposed to

Hi ya i have a vauxhall vectra 1.8 03 and the revs keep going up and down so to hold i have to give it more revs if i dont use my hand brake cos they drop to low and it stalls i have bin told its the idol...

Hi,remove the pipe from the airbox to the throtle body, you should be able to now see large round butterfly flap,it will proably be badly carboned up, your best bet is to disconnect the wiring plug and remove the throttle body,it will be held on with 4 bolts, decarbon the throttle body with brake cleaner or something similar, refit and all should be good.

Vauxhall Vectra Cruise control problem

try lifting the brake pedal with your toes then switching on the cc when driving. sometimes a faulty or loose switch on the brake pedal can cause cc to cut out.
