If it uses R-22, this is looking like it is very undercharged. On standard efficiency units, the evap should be at 40 degrees, about 68 psi. This high side is usually in the neighborhood of ambient +30 then convert to psi. Example: ambient 90 degrees. Add 30 and get 120 degrees. This converts to approx. 260 psi. Get make, model, and serial, and maybe we can get this resolved. Don't overlook evap fan running wrong direction or too slow. Possibly some air restriction in the conditioned space. Closed, blocked vents and such.

It does sound like a bad fan motor. With the compressor getting hot you may need to change the start relay, overload and run capacitor if it continues to run like this with a defective fan motor. What is the correct model number? Sea Breeze

Have ice build up on line leading into outside unit and ice buidup on inside units on my goodman air conditioner

Turn the system off on the thermostat and set the fan to "ON", this will thaw the ice faster if it hasn't already. When the system has completely thawed, which could take hours sometimes, depending on how bad it's frozen, then turn system back to "Cool" and start these checks>

1. Make sure filters are clean!
2. Make sure there is proper airflow through vents.
3. Make sure outside condenser fan motor is running.

If you have either no or minimal airflow, check the indoor blower to make sure it's working, if it is, the evaporator coil is dirty restricting the airflow. Be sure the system is thawed because the ice will also block the airflow!

If the condenser fan motor is not running, either the capacitor or the fan motor will need to be replaced.

If your filters are clean, you have good airflow through the house, and everything comes on like it should, it will most likely be the charge of refrigerant in the system is too low and you have a leak somewhere. If you have to have it charged, be sure the system is thawed before the technician gets there, he will not be able to do anything while it's froze.

Hope this helps and good luck!

I have to push the red reset button about once a day on my outside unit. What can cause this?

Depends on what the reset button is for.

If it is a low pressure cut off then you are probably low on refrigerant or have a dirty inside evaporator coil or bad airflow across the evaporator coil.

If it is a high pressure cutoff then you have a bad condenser fan motor, dirty condenser coil or it is over charged with refrigerant.

If it is an electrical overload reset button then the unit is pulling too many amps or over heating due to refrigerant loss and/or dirty condenser coil.

I'd wash out the condenser coil, ensure that the condenser fan is running, make sure you have a clean filter inside and that the blower is operating properly. If those things are OK and it still pops that reset then call a service tech to look it over for you.

My Ruud AC unit compresssor is creating a lot of condensation and home is not properly cooling.

check ur coils are they dirty how is your filter on hot days it will condensate alot however a unit is desighned to opperate for an average of around 87 degree day and may need the superheat adjusted. check and make sure the bigger line coming off that unit is very cold hold your hand over the outdoor fan is the heat off it very warm

Fan does not run. Compressor is running. I can spin the fan, just doesn't run.

If the fan motor is getting the proper voltage and the capacitor is good the motors bad.
Either open windings or overload is open.

You dont have a filter on top unit but you need to have your fan impeller and condensing coil clean regularly about once a year and more when your on dusty area.

Traulsen ur 48 dt freezer want go below 10 deg

The first place to look is to check the charge. Using guages check the low and high side pressures and their relationship to one another. I'm assuming your unit is a R-404 unit which, if fully charged and the condenser is clean, and the fan is operating, should have about 210 to 250 high side pressure. Other things to check: evaporator coil ice/frost free; defrosting properly to obtain a clean coil; all evaporator fans running. If low side pressure is above 30 PSI you have a weak compressor. Whatever, fix the Traulsen unit, its head and shoulders above anything else on the market today.

Is your condensing unit located in a well ventilated area and have an ample space, atleast a foot, from the rooftop flooring? Just make a check that free flowing outside air properly ventilates the condensing unit specially on high ambient temperatures. Hope this would solve your problem

Duo-therm quick cool

Your compressor is trying to restart after it shuts off which is causing a power draw down changing the sound of the fan speed change. Check voltage power supply and insure that the power supply cord is heavy enough to carry the necessary load.
