Hi there !

Just follow this instruction because your printer is confuse.

Here is the guide to reset the spooler setting : Go to START MENU
Choose RUN (For Windows XP) or Choose Commad prompt, right click and run as administrator ( Fow window vista and windows 7)
Type the letter "cmd"
Type the word "net stop spooler"
Exit
Go to C drive
Choose to Windows Folder
Click show content
Choose system32 folder
Choose spool folder
Choose printer
And delete all printing jobs pending
Again go back to CMD window and type the word "net start spooler"
Restart your computer also turn off your printer and switch it on.

I am using the above mentioned printer and have been for a few years now. The issue that I am having is that when I print from a certain program, the print receives the data, processes the data, then goes...

Delete the printer, download the latest drivers and try again. If problem continues I would reload the program that is causing the problem.

Sounds like something got corrupted. I'm assuming that it is this one application that is failing. If all other apps work it tells me that that app is hosed.

I want to print from my HP Laserjet 4100N tray 2 instead of tray 1. How can I do that?

Do a Configuration Page print out from the printers 'Information Menu'

Perform a paper path test from tray 2;
<Information Menu> , <Item> , <paper path test> , <Select> , use <Value> to select <Input Tray =2> , <Select> x 3 times.
Is the print out correct?

Check the paper size setting for Tray 2 matches the size you are trying to print onto.
Check / Adjust setting in the 'Paper Handling' menu.
Make sure Tray 1 has no paper in it when you send the print Job.

Check your Driver settings in Windows

HP 4100N Printer prints too light.

Hi hooperengrg:
I have worked on hplj4100's for years and have ran in to this plenty of times. You will have to have the laser motor mirrors cleaned. That means removing the top cover and cleaning the toner and paper dust build up that has accumulated on the laser motor mirrors that is preventing the laser light from a 100% unobstructive scan to the photo-conductive drum inside the toner cartridge. I hope that this helps
