After each reboot, msg: Passwiz is not properly installed. Componet: Inetie.dll Hkey-curr-user 3401B8cc-95A4-4dbe-B73F-))E2D23F2B73 is missing Run Repair. Problems started after downloading and running IE8. I lost my Passwords. I downloaded a trial version and re-entered my original license serial Number. I'm willing to start over and re-enter all my passwords. I have been a user since Oct 30, 2007. This is the first major problem I have had.

Rebooted this AM... Still having the same message after reboot. This is after uninstalling V1 and then installing V2. Have sent a note to Niko.

You have to have the original software to reinstall a program. Just tranferring the files does not work. By default windows must complete the setup process through windows installer.

Please remove the existing version of Norton program from the control panel, then go ahead and delete all Symantec and Norton files from the computer's C or D drive.

After that, open your registry and first take a back up just in case anything get deleted by mistake.
Then delete all Norton and Symantec files from HK CURRENT USER, HKEY LOCAL MACHINE, HKEY USERS, HKEY CURRENT CONFIG.

You can click on the SOFTWARE folder in each class to find the Norton files if any.
To open your registry editor, type regedit in RUN command (windows key+R)

After that you can again install a trial version of Norton for 30 days.

The first thing to check is to make sure you have scripting enabled in Internet Explorer. Internet Explorer is integrated into Yahoo Messenger so things that go wrong with IE can affect Yahoo Messenger. Here is the yahoo help page about that: http://help.yahoo.com/l/us/yahoo/messeng...

2) In the Start Menu click on Run. Type, without the quotes, "regsvr32 jscript.dll" and then click OK. Next, repeat the process but this time type in the Run box "regsvr32 vbscript.dll" and click OK. On the Control Panel (Category View) choose User Accounts and Family Safety, next choose User Accounts, and then click Turn User Account Control on or off.

3) If the above does not fix your problem and you are using Windows XP, you can update your Windows Script to version 5.7. In my experience helping others, this is the step that has helped the most people. I learned that my CA software was not operating properly because I still have Norton anti-virus on my system. CA support told me to uninstall Norton and reinstall CA. I downloaded the Norton removal tool...


Please delete the files of Symantec from hkey users, hkey local machines, hkey current user and remove Symantec, Norton files frm common files in program files application data, local settings... and next steps is .... to be continued..next week

msvcr80.dll is a Microsoft Visual C Runtime file. Try to eliminate the .dll file first as being the culprit. Type in "download msvcr80.dll" in any search engine, download it, save it to your desktop. Using windows search, locate msvcr80.dll on your system, (usually in c:\windows\system32) and rename it to msvcr.dll.old, then copy the newer file to the same location as the oler one, the reinstall your suspect program, reboot, then try to run the program again.

About folder option


Click on Start - Run and then type:
Regedit
then go to
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\Curr entVersion\Explorer\Advanced\Folder\Hidden\NOHIDDE N.
There should be two registry entries there:

- CheckedValue : Type: DWORD Value: 2
- DefaultValue : Type: DWORD Value: 2

(Correct them if necessary.)

Now open the key
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\Curr entVersion\Explorer\Advanced\Folder\Hidden\SHOWALL .

- CheckedValue : Type: DWORD Value: 1
- DefaultValue : Type: DWORD Value: 2

(Correct them if necessary.)

If the problem persists, open Start, Run, type "regsvr32 /i shell32.dll" and
click OK.
reboot the computer.

Installing error code -106


I suggest go to Start/Settings/Control Panel/Add remove programs.
Check and see if the program is in list and remove it. While in control panel go to system/Device Drivers check non have a yellow mark on them if so reinstall drivers or upgrade Reboot and try again.
