I have trouble setting up my 50 inch T.V. It is connected to a VCR/DVD player recorder. I have a red, yellow, and white cable. Do I need anything more?

If possible use a AV SCART connection lead as you get audio & video! If you want to use the phono connection you need to connect all 3 red/white/yellow to the TV and the VCR/DVD! Red & white are audio, yellow video!

I just bought a new vcr dvd player i am trying to hook it up to an old tv on the back of vcr has only red yellow white wire connectors no cable in or out how do i connect it up thank you

If you r TV does not have red white and yellow connectors you will need a device called an RF converter. It takes the composite video and tunes it to channel 2 or 3 on TV. Radio shack does carry them , as well as MAT electronics.
Please leave feedback

I have been given a Magnavox vcr vr9360. I t has the cord to plug it into the electrical outlet. Should it have a cable to connect to the TV?

You need a component cable with 3 plugs on each end, a yellow, a white and a red.

The yellow is for the video signal and goes from the yellow VIDEO OUT connection on the back of the VCR to the yellow VIDEO IN connection on the back of the TV.

The red and white are for the left and right audio. They go from the left and right AUDIO OUT connections on the back of the VCR to the left and right AUDIO IN connections on the back of the TV.

The connections on the back of your TV and VCR should all be color coded to make it easier but if not just go by the labels I described above.

Good luck and please comment back if this was helpful or if you need further assistance.

Trying to connect vcr/dvd to tv. Do not have

you need to have your basic rca cables (yellow, red and white). The cables you are referring to are composite cables and if you do not have component inputs on your tv they will be useless. You can use rca cables on any tv that has video.

Zenith TV has no place for yellow, red, white composite plugs

This TV doesn't have an AV input, so there are no input jacks other than the antenna connector. If you want to connect a device that has only AV outputs (your red, white and yellow plug) you will need an RF converter. This will take the AV signals and convert them to a channel 3 or 4 signal you can tune in on the set.

But since you don't seem interested in spending any money, you'll probably not like to hear that the converter runs around $15 most places. Take heart, there is an alternative. Find a VCR (if you don't have one already) that has an RF output. Many of the the newer DVD/VCR combos only have AV outputs. You're looking for one that has an "out to TV" threaded connector on the back. These units already have an RF converter built in. Connect your AV plugs to the line in jacks on the VCR and switch to that input, and you can use your video game or DVD player through the VCR.

No sound

tcolson,

good day, make sure your RCA red and white marked cable connected to TV screen audio input where you also connect your yellow cable which is the video.

note: always remember color code of RCA cable

yellow = video
red and white = audio (left and right)

connection would always be:

video device yellow RCA socket = TV yellow "INPUT" socket
white and red RCA = TV white and red "INPUT "socket
make sure that all this 3 cable are connected together in a specific "A/V input"

cheers ,
mark

Connecting dtv box to vcr to dvd to the tv

you can hook the cable box into the vcr and then out of the vcr into the spliter which will turn your tv red/white/yellow signel input into two inputs( you can get this at most radio shacks for about $7.00 dollors) this leaves you with one more input for the dvd player
Please rate my response and come back if you need more help!
THANK YOU!

Connect tv vcr and dvd player to digital converter box

Yes you can first connect the converter box to the antenna first. Next hook the tv out on converter box to vcr in on vcr. Next hook the vcr out to the tv in and watch vcr and converter box on channel 3 sometimes channel 4.on the actual tv and of course change channels with converter box remote. For dvd player hook it straight to tv with red, white, and yellow cables that come with your dvd player. Then to watch dvd player if it's hooked up that way you have to put your tv on a input like video 1 or input 1. This can be done by using the tv remote and looking for a button that says tv/video or input or source button. This is some common names for that button on tv remotes.

Connecting to digital converter box

If your tv just has the yellow / white, this means the audio is MONO, wich means 1 speaker, not Stereo, just connect the white onr, and leave the red one out, or... you could connect the audio to your stereo!
