Question about Magic Chef CMV1000B Microwave Oven

Open Question

Magic Chef turns on by itself

I have the same problem as everyone else except mine is the MCD11E3B model. I turns on by itself. Sometime you get a 3.5 on the keypad just before it turns on - sometimes not

Why hasnt a recall been issued from Magic Chef - this is both a personnal and fire safety hazard

SOURCE: How do you change light bulb on a Magic Chef

The owner's manual is here.

If the owner's manual doesn't cover it and there's no obvious cover on the side or rear, you'll have to remove the outer wrapper.

See these files:
http://wwww.microwavedisplay.com/safety.txt
http://wwww.microwavedisplay.com/disassembly.txt

The light is often located on the right side in the air duct attached to the magnetron or on the top of the oven cavity.

Most bulbs can be matched up at hardware stores, home improvement centers, and places like Wal-Mart or even large grocery stores.

Some use halogen lamps. You must not touch the new one with your bare skin, as the oils will shorten the bulb life.

Unfortunately I do not believe that the light bulb is able to be replaced. I would go here http://mcappliance.com/emailus.asp?Inquiry=parts and send them a question regarding it.

Bob

Magic chef microwave turns off after about 3 minutes then it just resets again after about 5 minutes

make this test and fix it. God bless you
  1. Interlock switch If your microwave is turning itself on, the first thing to check is the interlock switch. This is usually the first thing to malfunction that could cause this issue. If the interlock switch is bad then it will need to be replaced.
  2. Main control board If your microwave is turning itself on and the interlock switch is still working, the probable cause is the main control board. If the control board is defective it will need to be replaced.

Microwave turns on by itself

The problem is in the keypad control board, in order to fix this the part alone starts around $100.00 and must be replaced to fix this, also it would be a good idea to get the door switches checked.

The turn table and fan are connected in series with the bulb,as you have mentioned that you have replaced bulb,so please check again for any loose contact on bulb holder or bulb continuity again.
