Question about Kenmore 94802 Front Load Stacked Washer / Dryer
I have the Sears White-on-white Kenmore 27 in. Super Capacity Electric Laundry Center. Model number: 94802
The washer fills, agitates, drains, rinses and spins fine.. gets to the end of the final spin but keeps spinning. It does not shut off at the end of the final spin cycle.
It works in the sense that it does clean our laundry, but we need to be there to make sure to turn it off after it gets to the end on the last spin cycle or it just keeps spinning.. for hours (we found on the first time when we had a load going and ran in town and back)
It has this issue on Delicate, Regular and Perm Press. I don't think it's the timer. I am wondering if there is a sensor that tells the machine that there is no water left in the tub/drum, perhaps that is faulty?
I hate to say it, but it sure sounds like a timer problem. There are contacts inside that move and switch items no matter what setting its in. Its a possibilty that the power contact is stuck closed and when you manually turn it off it breaks contact. The job to replace is really not that hard, remove console (unplug unit first), mark your wires, then just replace. The part though is a touch expensive (131789200 Sears Part Number). Probably would be a little cheaper than buying a new unit I guess. Let me know if you need any further information. Jim
