If this has a controller that runs a microwave and an oven, then the problem F2 means a temperature related fault such as a bad temp sensor / thermostat or a defect in the control board. If it's just a microwave, then the problem is likely a failing keypad. In many cases, those can be replaced economically. If you repost with your exact model number (62622 is not a complete model number) then we can advise you further and more specifically.

SOURCE: microwave won't heat

Sorry my Clarification Request came out as a single blob of a paragraph.

That's not how I typed it. I never write that way!

So I've pasted it here, but as a solution.

Magnetrons generally should last about 2000 hours, but several factors can shorten that.

If it's not OVER ten years old (from the purchase date or the date on the tag inside the unit) then the magnetron is still under warranty.

From the owner's manual:

"For the second through the tenth year from the date of original purchase

"The magnetron tube, if the magnetron tube fails due to a defect in materials or workmanship. During this nine-year limited warranty, you will be responsible for any labor or in-home service costs.

"For the above limited warranty: To avoid any trip charges, you must take the microwave oven to a
General Electric Customer Care® servicer and pick it up following service. In-home service is also
available, but you must pay for the service technician’s travel costs to your home."

GE Customer Service is here, and you can verify the warranty status and find your nearest authorized servicer.

If you're sure the magnetron's bad, it's still under warranty, and you or a friend are handy, they will send you the magnetron to do it yourself. Call them at 888-239-6832.

Be persistent. You may have to speak with a supervisor.

It does sound like the magnetron overheated and the magnetron's thermostat opened until it cooled down.

An overheating magnetron can be due to:

  • operating oven without cover(s) in place
  • wrong magnetron installed in oven
  • an old or otherwise failing magnetron
  • cracked magnetron magnet
  • improper power line voltage (should be 110-125VAC)
  • foods low in moisture (popcorn & bacon, e.g. - add 1/2 cup of water in rear oven)
  • failed or inoperable cooling fan or hood vent exhaust fan
  • deteriorating foam weatherstripping seals in air ducts or on outside cover
  • blocked air vents (dust, animal nest debris, insufficient free air space behind & around oven, etc.)
  • clogged or greasy charcoal filter or grease filter
  • blocked duct in hood vent exhaust
Since yours is a counter top model, there are less of those factors to worry about.

When you hit Start to microwave, do the inside light, cooling fan, and turntable all come on?

Any unusual noises? Is it louder or quieter than usual?

We have a sound clip of what a microwave should sound like when the cooling fan and high voltage section are operating here.

You can find helpful exploded view diagrams and order parts if needed by entering your full model number from the tag on the oven here.

Let us know what you find out or decide.

We're happy to help you with free advice and we'd appreciate your thoughtful rating of our answer.

SOURCE: No power to microwave

Hi

When your microwave oven doesn't work at all, it means interior fuse inside the microwave has blown (usually a part inside the microwave makes this fuse blow). Sometimes a bad fuse holder inside the microwave cannot hold the fuse tight enough and the fuse will blow as well. If the fuse isn't the problem, check the door hooks and the door-release button. When these are broken, the door switch doesn't activate, so the oven can't work. It can also be due to a stuck or faulty door switch which might have blown the interior microwave fuse.

Please do rate the solution and revert for further assistance.

Thanks
Rylee

SOURCE: Sharp microwave 1200 watts keypad showing

Not a complete answer, but may help describe problem: Our R-510B should be the same except for color, and for several years it has intermittently messed up its display. The left side two segments on the units digit won't light up. So a digit 8, without the two vertical bars on the left, comes out as a letter E reversed left to right. Any digit that uses the two left segments (traditionally labelled segments E and F when talking about 7-segment displays) comes out wrong. Every thing else works fine. I can't tell if this is your problem.
This is almost surely a bad contact at the interface between the LCD display panel and the PC board: Typically there is a "squishy" conductive strip that connects them, and I expect grease has gotten in there. If so careful disassembly and cleaning with a mild solvent should fix it. Since we can live with it, and it usually fixes itself in a few weeks, I have not got around to taking it apart.

Model No. MH7130XEQ-2 Keypad does not work. Screen shows "F-2"

F2 on MH7130XEQ2 model means you have a failed membrane keypad.

This is a simple do it yourself job.

You can order part number 4359477 the control panel frame assembly here, which comes with a new keypad already mounted on it.

You simply move your circuit board into the new frame.

At our Web site, we have a video available showing how to remove a typical over the range control panel assembly in under 5 minutes.

Next, disconnect the strip as shown in the photo below, then remove the screws that hold your circuit board in the old frame.

Then carefully (since the display is made of glass) move your circuit board to the new frame, and reassembly is the reverse of disassembly.

The microwave doesn't come on and when you push

I'm assuming this is model number MH2175XSQ1.

F6 means the cook power relay on the control circuit board is intermittently shorting.

We regularly repair these controllers nationwide by mail for $39.95 postpaid with a one year guarantee. Details are here.

Or you can order a new control board ("microcomputer" part number W10166798) here for $74.30 plus shipping.

At our Web site, we have a video available showing how to remove a typical over the range control panel assembly in under 5 minutes.

Then you unplug the keypad (as per the photo below), take out the defective board and install the new one.

The power button is not working,i do not use this button very often, less than 1 time a week. i have had the oven 3-4 years

First try a hard reset.Unplug it a couple of minutes, then plug it back, set the clock, and try again.

A typical key sequence to cook for a minute a 70 percent power would be:

Cook Time (or "Cook") > 1 > 0 > 0 > Power Level (or "Power") > 7 > Start

It varies by brand and model.

If it still doesn't work you may have a failing keypad. If so, please leave it unplugged or leave the door open when it's not in use, and of course please do not leave it running unattended.

NOTE: FixYa's Web site is currently not notifying us when replies to our Clarification Requests are posted.

So please reply back directly to me with your brand and full model number from the tag in or on the unit for more help or free do-it-yourself tips or an estimate if required.

Display shows nothing

The first thing I would suggest is a hard reset. Unplug the unit for a minute or so. Then plug it back in, set the clock and try again.

If that doesn't work, leave it unplugged for about 5 minutes. Then let us know if the hard reset does not fix it.

Also, Please reply back with your brand and model number so we can help you.

Stovetop lights don't work whirlpool mh7130xeq

We see (and repair) this a lot. The problem is on the control panel, which we regularly repair nationwide by mail for $39.95 postpaid in about a week.

At our Web site, you can get details of our service, plus we have a video available showing how to remove a typical over the range control panel assembly in under 5 minutes.

This light failure often occurs when a bulb goes out and the filament shorts, or when the bulbs are removed or installed without first unplugging the oven from the power line. Either can cause such a failure on the controller.

This can often also affect the exhaust fan operation, too. The lights and fan can be inoperable or stuck on too.

Feel free to contact me directly (and please remind me of your full model number) for more information & help.
