This sounds like either the power supply is going or the lamp is over heating and shutting itself down. if the TV goes completely out with no sound, most likely a power supply. if there is still should, then it might just be a lamp

You could either replace the fan, or remove the fan from the set and give it a good cleaning (that's all it might need). However, be aware, fans that go bad in these sets will start to shut down your tv and decrease the life of your lamp. yes lamp issue. get the replacement lamp from reputable service or resale shop. get the lamp with housing. its alot easier to replace. clean the inside before putting in lamp with vacum. DONT BLOW AIR IN! you could damage color wheel. vacum out the fan also. lamps are about 250 US
