How do I reconnect the WD harddrive to the Bell PVR with out losing what I have already transfer

It is very simple, just re-connect the device and restart the process for remaining data and simultaneously check if you have lost any data or not. If you have lost your data then you have to show your machine to an expert for Recovering Data from Hard Drive.visit us

Seagate FreeAgent|Go getting really hot while transferring files from PC to the external hard disk. Do I need to replace it?

No. External harddrive enclosures that don't have fans are generally going to get quite hot during extended use.

Seagate freeagent 500gb not getting powered

is the power frequency different out in india, it's not just the voltages you have to watch!

If you can remove the hard drives and use a usb interface to connect them then software like filescavanger will recover files providing the hard spins up ok.

Seagate Free Agent Drive cannot be modified? Worked before...

Sounds like it's one of three things then

Disk trouble from unplugging the usb while the unit is still "running" and not yet finalized. Running CHKDSK /? /F in the run box where ? = extrenal drives lettrer. Then restart the computer(done from windows PC with drive attached)

Shell trouble I have already advised a dozen or so people this week that if CHKDSK doesn't work, replace the shell with a new one and see if the hard drive works in the new shell.

Failed harddrive, of course this is always an option. If neither of the above suggestions works then it's possible the hdd has failed and you may need to send it to a pro if you have any files on it that need retreiving.

Hope this helps FixYa, if you need additional help just reply to this by adding a comment.

Hi i got a buffalo tb external hardrive and the pc wont recognise it now after i transfered alot of data when the pc froze and i had to turn pc off mid transfer . please can you help

It is probable that since the transfer did not complete, the data on the external drive will be corrupt.

Uninstall the external drive then reinstall and format the ext drive.

You should then be able to begin the data transfer process again.

It just sounds like bad luck that your pc froze mid transfer.
When you try again, do not use the pc for any other uses until the transfer has completed.

Regards and let me know if this works for you.

221 GB Free on MyBook - Error states not enough space for backup

It may be due to the file system.  If formated as FAT32 files larger than 4gb may not transfer.  Try reformatting as NTFS to fix the problem.

My harddrive will not save files larger then 4 GB

What is the filesystem format on your external hard drive? there are limits on certain file systems, like maximum size of a single file in fat32 is 4gb. let me know the filesystem on your external hard drive and i will try to consult a few friends for you. regards
