I have a cluster of BLUE DOTS in the middle of my screen whenever I watch TV. It is especially bad with "night/dark" scenes. It is not as bad with "day" scenes if that's any help. That's all I know.
Seems like a problem with a lot of Sony TV's. Wish i could be of more help, but check this site. Your not alone! Sony LCD Rear Projection TV Problems hope this helps!

The model indicated uses what is called a Optical Light Engine, it is a very expensive part and likely is your problem---not much else will cause this trouble.
its sounds like the guns has burnt your yube, when switching of does your tv show a bright circle in the middel, or while watching. Smack your tv on the side while on see if the picture goes away or make a bright circle in the middel, this is caused by a bad solder joint but you wont get rid of the bunt pixels sorry.
The Blue dots or discolouration you are seeing is due too the Blue LCD screen having cracked from excessive heat. This normally happens when you have a power failure while the Television was on. This obviously because the Blue LCD sits next to the lamp - the main cause of heat. The correct part number on the 60" is A-1086-952-A. It is very, very ,expensive.
Sorry to have been the bearer of bad news. Good luck : )
