You will need to chk for the scanner drivers if they are installed properly in the scanners in the control panel.....but before scanning something try copying from the machine,it will help you to isolate the issue from a hardware issue.....if the drivers are there uninstall and reinstall the drivers from the device manager......also install the hp solution centre s/w from the cd that came with the printer.....
