Question about Sceptre DCL9a
having some issues with my LCD monitor. I have a DCL 19 inch. I've done
some reading on interference ect. There is about a two inch stripe
running from bottom to top that creates flickering lines only on white
screens? Here is a video I shot of it doing it. It only does it in this
two inch area of the monitor. http://www.rankinstudio.com/dnloads/monitor.wmv
Ive tried to use different cables, switch to different outlets, update and roll back drivers...nothing seems to be making it go away. Ive also tried to shield the VGA cable to stop interference. I've also hooked it up to a different computer and had the same issue...so its not the graphics card. Not sure what to do from here aside from purchasing a new monitor...really dont have the cash I'm a photographer and a videographer...really rely on my computer Any help would be appreciated.
Here is the monitor...all the specs ect.
Model number DCL9A

Capacitors have many functions but I would most certainly check your powersupply inside the monitor. Capacitors are also used to remove the 60 hz Sine Wave Ripple (hum) that commonly causes interferance in electronics. Though the AC has most likely been converted to DC a side effect is pulsed DC. The capacitor charges up and slowly discharges to smooth out the pulse. A bad capacitor wont charge and discharge or work less efficient than before. Either way the whole point is . . .
Wether your experiencing a white screen or simply interference, check all components related to the power supply first.
