You will have to get the degree of timeing from a manual. But on the outside of the pump is a plate with 2 screws the plate is about 1/2" x 1-1/4" take it of and you will 2 disks the one to the back should have a black line and it does not turn the front one does turn so you may not see it at first. If not turn the engine over til toy see the front come into the opening when it goes into the opening you are coming up to #1 compression go to the belt pulley on front of engine and set degree of time to the pointer then check the 2 lines on the pump they should line up if not loosen the 2 nuts that hold the pump on and rotate to line up lines in pump if in line that is it. Shut fuel of first because it will run out. That is about it.

How to time injector pump on 180 it is a roosa master do you loosen the bolts on injector pump and turn the pump? Tractor is now hard to start, runs rough and smokes.

Yes you do that but i’d check other reasons for it’s hard start. Since to much advance can burn pistons. I’d check any kind of fuel pressure first or even sucking air some where. Fill the fuel tank up all the way. Then see how it starts.

Why doesn't tractor start after injector pump rebuild?

I'd be suspicious that the injector timing is not correct.
When the injector pump was rebuilt, it had to have been removed from the engine.
There will be timing marks on the gears and they have to be lined up for the fuel to be injected at the correct time.

I have and early 340 international harvester tractor with the gas engine. It ran fine and just quit the other day. still getting gas but no spark. I took the distributor cap off and I seem to be able to...

You should be able to pull the whole distributor out by taking one bolt out that holds a Y bracket on that holds the distributor down. Make sure you mark the distributor and the engine before you pull it out. Also mark the rotor. Once you get it out, you will be able to determine if the shaft is broken. Hold the gear and try to spin the rotor. If the shaft is broken, you will probably need a new distributor. Seems strange that the shaft would bust, but I guess anything is possible.

I have a 1969 John Deere 4020 that is cold blooded. It turns over fast, but won't start without being pluged in or using ether below 70 degrees. What are the potential problems?

Cylinder Compression Low, Valves worn ... not seating properly, valve stems.
Injector nozzles worn ... dribbling rather than precise squirts, injection pump worn.

First and easiest thing to do: pull all nozzles and have them tested, pull the injection pump and have it rebuilt and re-calibrated.
*NOTE: you can pull these, but are components that proffessional need to rebuild and calibrate. Truck shop, or farm tractor shops have places that specialize in this type of work.

If it is gasoline, I would look towards pistons, rings, valves.

Gas in oil even after rebuilding carb.

Either the carb is still not shutting the fuel off, or the fuel pump diaphragm is perforated allowing fuel to enter the rocker housing and into the sump.
