PHILIPS X57 NOT WORKING

MY SON'S PHILIPS X57 WILL NOT BOOT UP.

IT SWITCHES ON, THE FAN WORKS FOR ABOUT 2 SECONDS, THE HARD DISK LIGHT AND WIFI LIGHT LIGHT-UP FOR A SPLIT SECOND THEN NOTHING. NO DISPLAY, AND DOESN'T BOOT UP.
I'VE CONNECTED IT TO AN OUTSIDE DISPLAY TO SEE IF ANYTHING IS SHOWN BUT NOTHING.

HE SAYS THAT IT JUST WENT IN HIBERNATION MODE AS IN THE SCREEN SWITCHED OFF THEN NOTHING.

ANY IDEAS??? PLEASE!!!!!

SOURCE: MY daughters PHILIPS X57 WILL NOT BOOT UP. IT

Its sounds like you have a faulty battery, take the battery out and take it to your local pc store and ask them if they will test it for you, if they find it is faulty you will have to buy a new one. Check that the power cable is working as well it might be that its not charging the battery so it might be worth taking that to the shop too for them to test. hope this helps and post back to let me how it goes.cheers.

I have a Philips Freevents X57 Laptop which has a motherboard problem. When I switch the laptop "ON" these are the following symtoms: A) Power Charger in AC/DC Socket without battery: Power...

Possibilities:
* leaking/bad capacitors on the motherboard, not doing their job, i.e., causing voltage fluctuations that the motherboard cannot tolerate;
* dead disk-drive -- cannot boot Windows from a "dead" drive;
* dead CPU -- cannot do anything other than power on/off;
* failing power-supply -- not supplying correct voltages to the motherboard.

Take the laptop to a qualified computer technician, for professional trouble-shooting, and probably a replacement of the motherboard. But, it might be less expensive to "salvage" the disk-drive (and your files) from the laptop, and to buy a new laptop, than it would be to buy a replacement motherboard, and pay for installation.

It turns off and the red light blinks.

blinkin red light usually means hardware failer the only 2 easy tricks to try that wont void your warrenty is
#1 remove the hard drive and boot it up without it and see if it boots and says no hard drive then shut it down and plug the hard drive back in if it works now then was just a drive error if it goes back to blinkin you have a bad drive.

#2 the fan test that also seems to clear any over heating or other blinkin light problems --- turn the ps3 off for 40 seconds by the switch on the back then hold down the eject button and flip the power switch back on while still holding the eject button and see if that clears it.

Black, cannot boot up... etc.

Try taking out battery and plug in power. If it works, battery is faulty.
If not, try taking out your hard disk plug in power, if it works, hard disk is faulty.Try taking out memory card, if there's a sound, memory card faulty. If no sound, it's your motherboard that is causing the error.

Note: If machine is under warranty no need to pay for the repairs.
