I have just received an eviction notice for no reason following a routine inspection. What rights do I have?

Depends on the state. Look online for your particular state laws. Also check the fine print of the lease you signed.

Police are evicting us next week. We spoke to landlord and real eastate and have been paying rent and trying to catch up. But no one seems to care . What can we do? We paid 750 4 days ago.

I am assuming you live in Australia, but we can't tell from the United States, laws are different in every country.

Your appeal of the notice depends upon what exactly it says in writing.

Not sure if you can qualify to obtain free legal assistance from a legal aid association as may exist in some countries like the United States.

Is there any limit for receiving a stipend for work that I do for a landlord in the state of Minnesota?

of course not. if the landlord wants to pay you more or less it's between the two of you. It's not uncommon for the resident manager of a multi-unit building to live there rent free.

It is against the law for your landlord to evict you or lock you out without first getting an order from the Landlord and Tenant Board.

Is a landlord aloud to use current month rent to pay past due rent without letting me know and give me a 3 day eve notice for not paying current month rent????? please HELP!!!

Renting property is different from state to state, but a 3 day eviction notice is way below the minimum days allowed. My advice would be to look at your state's renting eviction policies to get full information about how to go about this.

Help us we are being evicted

Hi rodvil1,

I'm very sorry to hear about that. While FixYa's Experts are always eager to help whenever possible, eviction law is not a subject we cover. Please look online for any information and agencies that can give you appropriate legal advice. Many agencies will provide free counseling to people who cannot afford to pay for services.

I see that you are in Australia. I'm not sure which region, but here is some info if you are in the western part of the country:
