Failed response from plugin device

Setup: I have a HP psc 1350 using a zps2000 print server connected to a d-link 614+ router and my PC is XP pro sp3 networked with a wireless adapter.
Problem: During some print jobs the printer stops disconnects form the server and my processor goes to 100% (print spooler), then I recieve this error when I try to reconnect the printer through the printserver software (failed response from plugin device). When I reboot everthing is fine and the printer continues it's previous job, Is there a way to reconnect without the reboot? I have already tried, Restarting the print spooler, printer, router and print server. No Luck. Only the rebooting frees it up. Also this happens with 2 other PC's here printing to the same printer, so I don't believe it to be PC related.
