I have a kenmore stove model number 790,72403012 and 3 of the 4 burners are working. They all are getting a spark, but the front left won't fire up.

First, try to light the burner in question with a match. Just hold a match to the burner, then turn the gas on to low. If the burner doesn`t light, the problem is the gas supply to the burner. Next, lift the top cover and put the prop rod in the hole in the cover to support it. Hold a match to the left-front burner. Now, turn the control knob to "light". You should see the igniter spark and hear a snap. If this doesn`t happen, repeat this step with the left rear burner. If you hear the spark and snap.
If the igniter doesn`t work on the front left burner, but does on the rear left burner, the igniter does work. The problem is likely the control knob for the left front burner. The. Control knob includes the electrical switch the activates the igniter when you turn on that burner.

Quick Fix for Ugly Nail Holes

Start by using the blunt end of a pen, or anything similar, and tuck any ragged edges into the hole so that the wall suface is flush and smooth again.
Now sneak into the kids' room and steal their crayons! No matter what color your walls are, you should be able to find a combination that will match the wall great.
Scribbling the crayon back and forth in every direction will fill the hole with crayon wax. Smooth it out between layers with your finger tip.
Start with a light color and darken to match. Baby blue with only a dark blue crayon? Fill the hole w/ white then lightly blend the dark blue in a little at a time. Maroon wall? Red then add brown. You get the idea.
When you're happy with the color just blend the excess away and your nail hole will be practically invisible.

One of the gas jets will not light. I see a spark but no flame comes out even when I try to light with match

Sometimes when cleaning orifices you may end up pushing debris back down the channel and semi-blocking the outlet hole. Use a number 21 gage or smaller wire and push it in and out of the holes with a twisting action. Or use Canned Air with a small plastic tubing that fits into the holes, forcing the debris out of the jet holes.

Oven burner won't stay lit

Often it is is easy is getting a welding tip cleaner or ven the end of a paperclip in a size that matches the holes on your gas burner. Simply gently push and pull the welding tip cleaner paper clip or even wire in any of the holes that appear blocked. I had the same problem with my burners. I found a paperclip that matched exactly the size of the holes on my burners I simply push the clip into the holes to clear them. Runs like new now.

It is a Williams circa 1985 gravity direct vent wall furnace mdel 30DV 5, 30,000 btu. Light pilot OK. Heat on OK. But when heat not called for (several hours) pilot must go out. There is a small penny...

That hole should only be a problem, if a strong draft comes thru and blows the pilot out. But that hole may also be for match lighting the pilot in an emergency. The older models like yours, had that feature. Check it closely, before you decide to block off the hole.

Hope this helped you.

Hi, When I push the start button on my prowler 720 control box, it automaticlly goes from green to red. When disconnect the prowler from its control box it stays green. Is there something on the prowler...

The power cord pins are numbered, 1 through 4. So are the transformer plug holes (the female pin holes in the "power pack"). For example, if you don't match number 1 to number 1, the green power light on the transformer will light for about 5 or 10 seconds, but the robot will sit there... well, like a powerless robot. Match the pin hole numbers and you have a working robot!

Dont know how to light oven with pilot light

So-- your oven DOES have a pilot light?
Most ovens today, use ignitors-- not pilots--

However, if yours does have a pilot, Here is how we used to light ours back home many years ago.

We pushed in on the oven's thermostatic (Temperature control) knob.
(Note-- that knob connected directly to the main gas valve-- so by pushing in on the knob, we were by-passing the safety's---

There was a little hole in the center of the oven-- bottom pan...

We had to have a match lit, and ready to go when we pushed in on the knob--

We inserted the burning (Wooden) match into the hole, and 'WHOOSH'!-- the pilot lit with a rush of gas and air-- It used to scare us kids!-- But Mom was brave!

I hope this helps--
But if you need more help, let us know--

I have a ct227 and I need a door handle. The elbow on the left the screw hole is stripped.

Hello. If the screw hole is stripped, you can repair that by using some one minute epoxy and a wooden match stick to make the hole smaller. Just work quickly in this sequence:
1. force some epoxy into the hole.
2. put epoxy on the match stick and push it into the hole.
3. Break off the match stick so it is not too long
4. Align everything and drive the screw in to the repaired hole.
5. let it set up for a few minutes before using it. J.

Jenn Air Pro Style gas range - ignitors on 2 burners (same side) click but don't light

I had a problem in which only one burner refused to light with the electronic ignition, even though the same ignitor (they are shared) would light the rear burner on the same side, and the problem burner would light with a match. On inspection, the spark occurs at a central point and there is a tube which apparently leads gas from each burner to the ignitor. There are two groupings of 3 holes each on the sloping part of each burner, facing toward the ignitor. After lighting both burners (the front one with a match), I saw that the lower group of 3 holes had tiny flames on the burner that worked properly, but not on the other. I carefully cleaned each of these holes with a small pin, and the problem appears to be solved.

Not sure, but sounds like you may have a gas pressure problem or the stove is set-up for the wrong type of gas.
