Brinkman second burner not lighting

Sometimes by the igniter there's a small deflector that directs 1 jet over to the gas outlet holes on the second burner. You can always get a butane extendo lighter and do it manually (or a match on hemostats)

Kenmore quantum series gas grill: where do I put the match to light it?

Using the wire match holder that came with the grill. Place the match in the holder, light the match and place it next to one of the burners. Turn the burner ON just enough for the gas to rise and the match will light the burner. Quickly remove the match and continue lighting the remaining burners you want to use.

Hope this helped you and thanks for choosing FixYa.

How to you start it

Grill should have a push button igniter located on control knob panel. The ignitor requires a battery, usually AA. Remove the cap and put in battery. Make sure propane tank has propane and turn on. Make sure all connections are tight. You can also manually light it by going through the view hole located at bottom front or side. Make sure your match or lighter is in and lit before turning on gas.

Electronic ignition doesn't work anymore. How do I manually light this?

Before you go to match lighting, have you changed the battery in the ignitor button? If you haven't, I'd start there first. Unscrew the ignitor cap and the battery's Positive Tip (+) will be facing you. Be sure to install the new battery in the same direction. While the battery is out, check for any corrosion that may be present in the battery holder. A Q-Tip & WD40 work well to clean out any corrosion.

To match light the burners ... use a long stick match (also called a hearth match) and carefully guide the match between the grates and under the flame tamers, as close to each burner as possible. Of course, the match should be lit prior to doing this. Turn each burner on individually, as you place the lighted match next to it. Once the burner lights, turn it down to low and move to the next burner and so on, until all the burners you want to use are lit. Then set the flame heights where you want them.

Hope this helped you. Please let me know and Happy Grilling!!

My E320 Grill fell over and all is ok, but Igniter wont work, changed the battery, connections look ok, but I didnt assemble it. It does light with Match.

Yes, you can match light each burner with a long stick match or a butane match. You'll have to turn each burner on one at a time to do this. But, I'll caution you, do not to hesitate in lighting a burner, as gas will build up quickly and you'll get a big WHOMP when the burner lights.

Some of my burners will not lite...i see a small spark. It will light if i use a lighter. what part will solve the issue?

There is likely a buildup of crud inside of the gas unit - this can best be cleared with a toothpick poked into the gas jet holes - specifically the holes in front of the igniter. It is also likely the igniter is sparking, but not enough to light up the gas. Theoretically, very little spark is needed to light propane - but I think we've both seen that as not such a practical theory!! If cleaning out the holes ( I would also remove the burner and shake out the crud ) doesn't work, then I would consider replacing the igniter. It is not difficult to replace and your local BBQ store should have igniters in stock. Take the old igniter with you to match it up, to be sure you get the right configuration for your Q. Best of luck in this and Merry Christmas - AND thanks for using Fixya!!

CalFlame 4-burner convection BBQ rear rotisserie burner does not work. Converted to natural gas. There is a spark but gas will not ignite. Held match to burner and it would light but would go out when...

Check the air shutter adjustment on the rotisserie burner. It may be starving for air. Also make sure the burner is properly positioned over the orifice. When it was converted, it may not have been put back into place correctly. Also, it's possible the orifice may have been re-drilled out at the wrong size for natural gas. If you know the rotisserie burner BTU rating, I can look up the correct orifice hole size to check if it's right. Douglas

Weber gas bbq

Hello stevie66, disconnect the gas tank, carefully remove the burner element (the thing with the small holes) and soak it in a bowl of vinegar overnight. Remove and shack the excess out, remount and connect the gas. Open the gas line about 1/4 turn and CAREFULLY LIGHT. Please E-Mail the results. Thank you.
