After burning home movies on dvd - they won't play

Be sure you purchased compatible discs for your DVD player, ie. DVD +R or -R. Some players won't support both.

They were burned " successfully" but when played on the computer or in the DVD player, DISC ERROR appeared. This has never happened before. I told my mother the problem we were having. She asked if we had opened up a new package of DVDs. She used to work at a business that dealt with computers. The guys she worked with remarked several times that no matter the brand, sometimes when they open a new pack the DVDs didn't work on what they were doing. ( I know this sounds odd)
I asked my husband. He HAD opened up a new pack of TDK DVDs. He went through 4 with the Disc error on all of them. Anyway, he tried another brand. He made 2 DVDs. They both worked perfectly.
I don't know EXACTLY what the problem was, but my mom's advice worked. And we've used TDK before, and never had this problem. I guess it was a bad batch of DVDs.
