Problem with RCA D56W20 56 in. Rear Projection Television

RCA D56W20 no power and whistling

First, thank you for any and all help. I will try to be descriptive

I have an RCA D56W20 tv recent got an electrical burning smell and now when the tv is plugged in I get a power light and a "whistling" sound then shuts down. it will repeat this cycle within a few seconds three times and then nothing. I never actually get any picture. I have read a previous post mentioning the Flyback Transformer and the Transistor-Horizontal. I would like to know if this is the correct assessment and if so. Where could I get pictures of these parts.? to have a better understanding of what needs to be done.

I have not worked on tv's before, but I do work with computer mainboards and have excellent soldering skills. I have taken the rear lower cover off of the unit and can see several boards. I have used great caution not to touch anything at this point as I know it can be very dangerous to actually work on tvs. I have looked up pricing on partstore.com for the two parts. I can here the "whistle" or "small siren" sound coming from what I believe is the rear far left board. Again any help would be great.

      I when i went to pull the old board i could not get the 2 Transformer cables off the unit.. ( the 2 cables are the Red one and a small black cable that goes into the front of them.. Is there a trick to get these cables off the unit?

ok. the FLyback is the large black part on the lower left corner.. has large red wire comeing from it... the HOrizontal.. is the large black transistor right in front on the left side on the largest heat sink..getting these parts are tricky.. you must get some numbers on the part itself..there are three different flybacks.... and the horizontal is ussally 259899 rca part number.     • ok so you r going to replace the board? you have a new one?... buy the looks of your picture you do have the units that can remove these cables from the flyback..this is very hard. the black wire you have to pull straight up and firmly. the red one you you slide the boot up and then there is a tiny gromet tpy clip very difficult to remove i break 75 percent of the ones i remove. was thinking since you have a new board did the new board come with the cables? you come better going to the front of tv and pulling the other end off.
