My acer X193w screen went blue one day and now it wont show red colours. I have fiddled with the screen menu and it looks a little better. But still no red and the colours aren't quite right.

I once had that problem, I think you need to make sure that the power supply cable is fitted well and your monitor receives enough power. if its shares the power cable with your CPU try and separate it then restart your computer.

you disconnect the monitor from PC
& see: it will show no signal or check signal cable. that means the monitor is OK problem is in PC. may be you PC is not booting properly. if monitor does not come on there may be fault in the main board of your monitor.
If you know the cable and the place it was before
replace it and reboot the dude (Ps if you dont have the referce and instructions for the take a polaroid
check in your computer graphic drivers are installed correctly. If installed then when you power up the computer press F8 key then enter in enable vga mode.Set screen resolution to 1024*768 then apply and ok. You can set screen resolution in control panel dispaly property.
First, make sure that it has found you exact monitor, if not install the drivers for the monitor and see if that helps. Also check the specs on the monitor and make sure it can go to the size you are selecting
sounds like a video card issue. Check the screen on another computer. If it is doing the same thing, it is the monitor. If it doesn't, then you have a video card issue
