Liebherr HC2062 Refrigerator icemaker sprays water into the ice compartment

The icemaker makes ice, but then sprays water in the ice compartment which freezes the ice cubes into a solid chunk of ice.

SOURCE: blue ice from ice maker

I have this problem too. Seems to be a couple of blue paper washers in the unit that the water filters through and they break up. Ive had this issue go on for more than a year now with Liebherr trying over and over not to claim responsibility. Ive sent them the blue washers and photos and all to get analyzed and they simply do not call me back. Their service center didnt even know there were 2 blue washers in the unit. Seems to be a mess. In any case I still have a very large amount of blue paper dust in my ice and its unuseable. Any solutions?

SOURCE: My Liebherr ign 2566 freezer

Hello there,
You need to check the water inlet valve, it is having a problem, it is not shutting close after filling the ice maker with water. It is already defective hereby causing water to pour out into the tray therefore producing the big slab of frozen water.
You will have to test and replace the water inlet valve. That way, it will stop pouring water into the already made ice that is in the tray.
Hope this helped. All the best Elect_Comp

Does not make ice..there is no click from the water valve

NOTE: This
is a multi-solution answer since I don't have all the tech from your question to pinpoint your problem
But the solution is in here generically, if you read and study the solutions very, very carefully.
Check Temp inside freezer. It has to be down to about 10 or 15 degrees
This can cause slow ice making if its too high even tho its freezing everything else at 25 degrees
The ref. temp should be about 33-35
The Freezer temp should be 0 to 10 Any thing below these temps is overkill and a waste of elect
The higher the number you turn it up to is the coldest
The icemaker is 110v
See if water is in icemaker.
Pour water in Ice Maker and wait to see if it ejects.
If it ejects thenyou need to replace water valve in rear bottom of fridge(Its the part that
attaches to water line out of wall)
If it doesn't eject then it is a faulty Ice Maker.
If its leaking or no water at icemaker or door either one, then the valve at the rear bottom of ref needs replacing
First I would check the fan in the freezer. Listen to see if it is running
It moves air to the ref from the freezer
Then check to see if freezer control is turned WARMER, which makes the Ref. colder
Also if it is getting drinking water to the door but not to the icemaker (or vice versa) Then you need to replace
the water valve at the bottom rear of the fridge. It is a double valve and one side is not working
Also this might be a common Defrost problem, Ice
is not being melted by the defrost system. The fan can't blow through the coils into the fridge.
Take out back panel of freezer to check for ice buildup. The coils should be clean.
There are three components to a defrost system- a heater, heater thermostat, and a timer unless you have a defrost electronic card.
Its best handled by a Technician but you could possibly do it by taking your model number to the nearest appliance parts store and asking for the parts. They are mostly located in freezer ,behind back panel on freezer coils.except the card which is usually located in ref The parts store will have info
Also check fan undernearh Ref in the rear
Clean condenser coils underneath

Hello,

The problem there is going to be one of 2 related causes.

The tube in the back of the icemaker where the water enters it is partially frozen and when the water comes into the icemaker some of it is spraying into the bin instead of filling into the icemaker.Remove the icemaker and check and thaw that tube.

That tube is out of place so once again instead of water filling into icemaker correctly some of it is running into ice bucket instead of icemaker.

I have a new Liebherr refrigerator. It says to bleed the water line to the ice maker. How?

not familiar with brand but you will pop a cover off the icemakerfront and either push dial to start or jumper it some how. some models cant be jump started but i assume if you must bleed it then it has to have a way to start the icemaker.

Icemaker making ice

If icemaker is in good order, it will then depend on how cold the freezer compartment is and how available the dispenced water is. The ice maker draws the temp. from the freezer to allow activation.Size of ice depends on level of water in ice trays.

Replace icmaker on kenmore

The problem could also be the Emitter or receiver unit. This unit detects the level of ice in the ice bucket and when it gets full the ice blocks the optical path shutting down the making of ice till optical contact is made. See the attached jpeg for troubleshooting steps.

Water leaking from freezer compartment and ice maker not working properly

  • the water(in the bottom of the freezer) is coming from the freezer when is defrosts. the drain line is in the back wall of the freezer and may be clogged up with ice. clean out the freezer and pour some hot water in the very back of the freezer, this will hopefully unclog the drain. if not, then you have to take the back wall out of the freezer to get directly to the drain line. there should just be a couple screws holding it; it is just an aluminum or plastic panel.
  • and
  • the icemaker problem
  • it could be that the water valve is slowly leaking water into up to the icemaker and freezing before dripping out of the tube. then when the icemaker turns on the water to the icemaker it is partially blocked by the ice and sprays water all over instead of gently falling into the icemaker.
  • if this is the case then changing the water valve on the back of the machine and defrosting the fill tube behind the icemaker should fix this problem.
