Re: joystick

While trying to fix this problem today I discovered something that seems to help, at least in my case. If I push down on the small button located below the joystick/onoff button, while also tapping the OK button, the camera responds to the OK. (This is the display/info button.) I'm not sure why this works or whether it would help in every case, but it would be worth a try. I've been able to finally set my date and make other changes necessary after recharging my battery.

Broken joystick

Hello,This is a major problem with this series Kodak camera, as they age the switch either stops working or just falls apart !! The cost to repair would exceed the cost of a newer camera on E-Bay, I would stay away from this style control unless camera is new. Hope this helps.

Joystick won't work. I have to push straight down and then over to get any action, and then only sometimes does it work. It seems to have loosened.

Cameras have moving parts and therefore open spaces for dirt to get in and "gunk" things up- that's why they make camera cases- even storing your camera in a Zip Lock sandwich bag, is way better than the bottom of a purse.

the 5-way switch breaks it's solder connections on several Kodak models. if you have a soldering iron with a fine tip and are comfortable working on small soldering joints it is possible to repair the joystick (there are 10 solder connections on a 1/4 inch square switch, 3 on two sides and 2 on the other two sides)

I have the Sony NSC-GC1/GC3 and i cant for the life of me find out where the arrow buttons are to scroll through menus to delete and highlight items in the menu

the button in the center of the mode/menu ring is really a joystick. you can press it straight in (like a button), or apply pressure to the sides to go up/down/left/right.

My joystick only work up down and right

I had the same problem. I took my Z760 apart and put in a joystick from a used Z760. But the problem is that the joystick comes unglued from the small computer board. Take it apart and put a tiny drop of superglue on the joystick. Use a magnifier to line up the two little tabs in the proper holes. It should work fine.

Kodak easy share self-timer

You use the the self timer as follows:
(1) Push the Menu button on back of camera
(2) Scroll through the Menu items using the small joystick located in the center of your circular selector switch, until you highlight the self timer ON/OFF area
(3) Push the small joystick straight in, like a button
(4) Use the joystick to highlight the on position
(5) Push the joystick button
(6) & just snap the picture as usual.
You will have to use the viewfinder instead of the screen to point the camera.
Hope this helps

Ccd error

Sounds like your 'preview' feature has been turned off in your camera settings. With the camera turned 'on,' press: "Menu," then press the joystick button until you reach the pencil, which is your, "Custom Setting Menu." Then press down on your joystick to reach, "Image Review." Now press the joystick to the right to select, "Image Review," and press up on the joystick to get to, "Image Review On," and then press, "OK." If that doesn't do it, please let us know.
