If the motor was submerged in water it's probably shot. They aren't made to function during and after exposure to water.

SOURCE: Top Load Roper Washer does not agitate during wash/rinse cycle

You may need to replace agitator dogs located inside the agitator or the drive coupler located above the motor. It dependis on which model you have.

Will not spin or agitate

did the washer cause the flood? you could have got water into the motor if it was above a few inches deep. do you hear the motor working, and no agitator movement? will it fill ? or is it just dead?

Basement got about 4 inches of water. Washer will turn on, but does not function.

Sounds like the Motor Controller on the left side of this Pic may be the issue. The Drain Pump/Pressure switch is on the left side of the Pic. I feel the drain pump may not work after the basement flood. You can get into Service Mode and try to turn it on from the Console once the machine is dried out.

F/ll blinking is there a switch in case of flood?

If you had a flood and any water got into bottom of machine, you have probably shorted out a motor control board. These board are either in the lower back right or front left corner bottom. A qualified service tech should be called to do this repair.

My Roper dryer worked fine until my basement flooded about 6 inches of water on floor. Now my dryer just hums when I try to start the dryer. The heat does come on. When I spin the drum and hold in the door...

It sounds like the motor was damaged in the flood. You may be able to salvage it by spraying both ends of the motor shaft with penetrating oil several times moving it in between, but you may not be able to salvage it.

My roper wont do anything

Is you washer sitting on a carpeted floor? If so ther is not enough air flow under it for the motor to not overheat. Maybe by now 4-3-09 it's functioning if not post me your model number. If it's on carpet raise it up with 3/4 inch boards under the feet.

Washer does not spin

May want to check out the belt on the bottom. If it got wet, it may have stretched it out to wear it wont work. The tension is caused by the motor sliding in and out on a sliding system, which may have gotten a little rust in there. Make sure the motor will move somewhat freely and that the belt isnt stretched to much. Might be an easy fix. Good Luck!!! Jim
