I exported a file - everything was running fine - I shut down properly. A few minutes later when I powered up I got this message - SYSTEM ERROR - CODE 4. The recorder won't respond to anything now, all I can do is shut down. I can't find anything about this message in the manual - I'm getting nervous - I've got too much music in there to lose!! Someone PLEASE help!!!

I also got an "ERROR - CODE 4" message on my Tascam and now am locked out of my unit. If anyone can help me get up and running again - without losing all my saved recordings! - I'd really appreciate your help!

i exported a track to another partition and it copied then the rading song screen came up and froze after the first two squares. i shut it off after i left it running overnight. then i powered it back on and it freezes at the reading song que at the beginning i can't even shut down. what can i do i have alot of music in there plus i dont have another 450 bucks.

I have the same error message. "System Error - Code: 4
I know the memory on Partition 1 was full, but otherwise fine. I shut down normally and had no problems prior.
