SOURCE: LG DLG 5988B gas dryer not heating
HELLO:
Have you looked at the over heat sensor on the left hand bottom of the burner pipe?
I found this and with a simple test with a butane lighter.
I used a cheep Digital volt meter and set it to ohms.
The sensor was open meanning that their was no connection between the terminals.
On the rear of this sensor there is a small button.
When I pushed the button I hear it click and the switch closed up.
I reinstalled it and the machine work perfect.
I think this is a fail safe if the exaust flue becomes clogged.
Otherwise why would it have a re-set button on it?
I am not a service / repair person.
Unplug the unit before you take the lid and front cover off.
the burner unit is in the lower right hand corner as you face the dryer.
The top comes off first and then the control panel and then you can remove the door and fron panel to expose the blower and burner.
Be carful and good luck.
Uncle Ed.

can you look in one of the holes in the back and see if the inside glows orange after you turn it on? If it doesn't could be the igniter, if it does glow orange, clicks or clacks, and glows again 20-30 seconds later, click/clack and nothing, it's probably the gas valve. I'm going through the same thing with a new one and they had to order the valve and a new controller board in case it is bad too. If you are handy, have an electronic tester, and have the patience, go to http://136.166.4.200/contents/Laundry/DLG3788.htm for the service manual and disassembly instructions and see if you want to tackle the test flow for no heat. I just stumbled on the site.

You don't, it is gas dryer, so I advise you to get a authorized gas technician to look at your unit.
Chances are the blower assembly is out of whack, maybe the motor is off its brackets.

This can obviously be several things, but I would first check the small safety thermostat. On the gas models, there is a small pin sticking out of it which can be pushed back in to reset it. It is located on the heater housing and is only about the size of a dime, with two wires on it. This will trip out easily if your vent was not clean, or is long or restricted in some ways (like using flex ducting)
If you need more help getting to it, let me know and I'll give you more instructions.
Hi,
If you are having problems with your
gas dryer not heating the most common problem is that the ignitor
goes bad. Even though it glows sometimes it is still not working
properly.
if
you dryer is gas check out this gas

If you have an electric dryer, you can
have many different things that can go wrong causing the dryer not to
