Question about Microsoft Xbox 360 Console

Different power receptacle on console

After receiving a new console from warranty replacement, the power receptacle is different than the original power supply which was not traded. Small difference in middle of plug, it can be solved by removing the plastic prong in the middle but want to make sure there is no other difference. Any experience with this?

Breaker tripped and now my nintendo wii wont turn on

Few things to try:

1. Different Outlet. Plug the console into a different outlet in your residence. If the Wii turns on, the outlet is dead. I would recommend an electrician to fix the outlet.

2. Try a different power adapter. You could purchase another power brick or get one from a friend and use the new one to try and power up the console. Also try in a different outlet (step one) to be sure

3. If none of this works, the console may have just received too much power and burnt out the power supply. Contacting Nintendo. Information below:

I purchased this mp3 on 11th devmber. the music is not getting through to the headphones - can you help? is it powered by a battery & is one included as standard?

Hi mharrington9,

You may want to post the make and model of your mp3 player. Someone may have solved the same problem with the same player, and would then be able to give you a more specific answer than this one;

I assume you have replaced or re-charged the battery first, and that full power to your player did not help. If so, it is likely to be a problem with the headphones, the headphone receptacle, or the amplifier inside the mp3 player;

1) Headphone problem?
Get a different set of ear-bud headphones, and try them out. If the alternative set works but your headphones do not work, it's the headphones.

1a) Large headphones, small player?
If your headphones are large, but the power of your MP3 player is small, the player may not have enough power to drive the headphone speakers. If you run your MP3 player through an additional amplifier, you may then have enough power to get sound out of your headphones.

1b) Broken wire in ear bud jack?
Most of my broken ear-bud sets have failed because one or more of the wires has broken, usually at the plug-end. There are 3 thin wires; If you break the left-channel or right-channel wire, only one earbud goes out. If you break the ground wire, both earbuds stop working, or you may hear a very faint sound at full volume. If you like to solder things, it is possible to get a new plug, cut off the old one, and solder in a new one. But it may be easier to get a new set of earbuds.

2) Broken Receptacle?

Plug your ear-buds into a different, working MP3 player. If the ear-buds work, then
Plug your MP3 into a computer through the data cable, and try to play something through the computer.
If the MP3 works through the data cable, something is wrong with the receptacle for your ear-bud plug.
You may be able to get your MP3 player replaced under warranty, since the purchase was recent. Or, if no warranty and you feel adventurous, take the back off and try to re-solder or replace the receptacle-- Though this usually ends in irreparable damage to the MP3 player :-\

3) Broken MP3 player?
If you can't get any music to play through the data cable or the computer, something is seriously wrong with the guts of the MP3 player. Try for a warranty replacement if you can.

Best of luck, mharrington9

Xbox 360 Wireless Controllers Not Working

Have your Xbox 360 controllers replaced, it still has warranty, i presume. Any type of batteries would work, especially energizer, but you can try the original Xbox 360 controller batteries (rechargeable ones). Xbox 360 Tech Support....

Wii conection

Try the Wii into a different wall outlet. If its still dead then try a different Wii Adapter to make sure your original is good.

If the Wii is still dead then the mainboard is bad and would need to be replaced.

Does my extended warranty cover a replacement console?

if you have received a console from microsoft after a repair and it is still faulty or receives a fault then it will be covered by them as they originally repaired it when it was under warranty and your warranty will not be affected in any way as they will have it on there system to say the console is owned by you and still under warranty from a previous console or you will receive a full warranty as it is a new console

Brand new freezer not starting

You may have plugged your freezer into a bad receptacle, which is not providing the proper voltage. (usually due to a loose wire or bad contacts in the receptacle.) After letting the unit sit for at least 10 minutes, plug it into a different outlet (preferably on a different breaker). You can use a heavy gauge (like 14 or 12 gauge) extension cord for the test. If it starts and runs, fix your original receptacle / breaker / wiring. If still the same results (compressor not starting), call for warranty service.

Xbox controller will not sync with console

Disconnect the power cord from the 360 for a couple of minutes.

Plug it back in and turn it on. Power turn on a different controller than the one that isn't working and sync it with the 360.

Now turn on the original controller that wouldn't sync, and use the sync buttons on the 360 and controller. It should sync up and go to player 2 slot.

Everything should be good now, that's how I fixed mine.

Surface element doesn't work

When an electric element doesn't work, either it isn't receiving electric power or it's likely that the element or receptacle it plugs into is faulty. Check the other elements. If none work, the circuit breaker has probably tripped. Reset it at the electric panel. If this reoccurs, call an appliance repairperson. If just one burner isn't working, try to pinpoint the source of the problem-- likely a bad element/burner or a problem with its connection receptacle. In some cases it's the switch or the wiring. To replace a bad switch or repair the wiring or replace the receptacle, call an appliance repairperson. A burner that plugs into a receptacle is easy to test. After turning off the range's power at the main electrical panel, just unplug the non-heating burner, plug it into another working receptacle, restore the power to the range, and test it. If the burner works, you know its original receptacle is probably faulty. If it doesn't work in the good receptacle, the burner is bad and should be replaced. Buy a replacement and simply plug it into the receptacle. When you remove the burner, look for burned wires or a charred receptacle. Check the receptacle or terminal block to see if it's cracked, loose or looks burned. If you notice any of the above signs, replace the faulty component, too. If the male burner prongs are corroded, always change the female receptacle it was plugged into. A flip-up burner requires a little more work. After turning off the power, tilt up the burner, unscrew the small screw that holds it, and then slide it out. Disassemble the insulator block by prying off the clips. Then unscrew the wires from the element, replace with a new burner, and reassemble. To test a burner with a multi-meter: First remove the burner from its receptacle, as discussed above. Set the multi-meter to the Rx100 setting (or, for a digital meter, to [omega symbol] or k[omega symbol]. With the red lead connected to the positive jack and the black lead to the negative jack, touch the black probe on one of the heating element's terminals and touch the red probe to the other terminal. The needle should jump from the infinity reading to the right, indicating a properly "closed" circuit. If it doesn't, try the probes on a different part of the metal contacts. Still no reading? Touch the two leads together to make sure the meter is working (the needle should jump). If it works, there is an internal break in the element and it will need to be replaced. When you're finished, turn the power back on.
