Question about LG DLE3777 Electric Dryer

1 Answer

LG takes forever to dry clothes

Our dryer never has done a good job drying clothes always needing about 20 minutes more to dry clothes after the wash has finished.

Lately its really bad. We've gotten two bids to fix it and they want $150. Bad news is that our venting runs down under the floor and vents under our back deck. We don't know if it's plugged or not. The tubing above the ground is ok.
Shoudl we scrap it or pay for someone to come out and inspect for the thermostat??

Hi, First chech the vent. I would try and hook up a shop vac that can blow out or I have used an electric leaf blower. The lead blower is great because it has so much power. In your situation with the vent taking the path it does, you will need a lot of air. Another option is to unhook the vent from the dryer and try drying a load of laundry. If it dryes fast, you can be sure it is the vent.
Because this is an electric dryer, the vent is most common problem.
I hope this helps you. Please let me know if I can assist you further.

Lint is stuck in door seal and clothes are not drying

sounds like the lint filter is clogged up, replace it with a new one if possible or give the old filter a good wash, let it dry and try again

The cooling light is always on and the clothes take forever to dry!

Inside the dryer, near the lint filter, you will find two curved metal bars, about 1/4 inch wide each, about an inch apart and about 4 inches long. These sense the moisture in the clothes. When fabric softener sheets are used, a waxy substance will eventually coat the bars, so the dryer will not "see" that the clothes are still wet, and go right to a cool down. Clean them off, or use time dry only.

My LG dlg2532 takes forever to dry clothes. When the drying cycle ends, the clothes are still quite damp. It's a gas dryer and the dryer seems to be getting gas since it does eventually dry the clothes...

How long are the vents? do they go for miles in your house?(sarcasm) Does the dryer have good ventilation? Check the vents again and make sure it is clear.

Kenmore elite 62042 says it is done, but, always requires some more time and seems to be progressing towards longer drying times. the clothes are warm but still damp. started 6-12 mos. ago, 5-10 min extra...

Here are a few more things to look at:

Sometimes blower wheels will get loose in dryers. Sometimes they will get a whole lump of lint in them or you can hear a rattling noise in the dryer, this is the blower wheel, its worn out and it can cause the fuse to blow too,or it can half *** work and take fifty forever's to dry the clothes.Or it could be just that the dryer needs a good blowing out .I use a lawn blower to get all the lint out of the dryer as well as the vent pipe and vent to outside. I take the filter HOUSING out and wash it also. That is, I remove the housing and clean is good! Making sure that the dryer is properly flowing air is a good thing!

It takes at least 2 60 minute cycles to dry clothes. Not even 2 years old yet. Not a new problem has always been this way. What is the deal.

Check the blower fan which is mounted underneath the drum on my DLE2514W front loading LG dryer. I experienced poor drying along with a loud thump at the start of each cycle. At first I thought it was a bad roller but later found that the blower fan had separated from its bracket so it was not turning with each turn of the moter but rather spinning freely.

Dryer comes on, dryer turns, dryer heats but does

make sure your vent is clear from dryer to outside the house.your keeping moisture in dryer and if it cant circulate the air out correctly your clothes will take forever to dry.

It takes a long time to dry a load of clothes

sounds as if you may have an issue with a blocked/clogged ventin, perhaps wher it leaves the home, a unit that is not able to expell the heat will tend to not dry the clothes properly, 2-3x to dry a good sign of venting issue

I'm sorry to hear of your problem with your LG dryer. I have one as well and it works very well. I found my owners manual. It has a web site WWW.LGSERVICE.com. They also have a toll free number 1-877-714-7486. Perhaps either of these will help you find an answer. Good Luck
