Wireless Adapter not working under Vista
I have performed a clean install of Windows Vista Business on my Acer 5044 WLMi. Everything works ok apart from the wireless adapter. The driver is loaded correctly and working however the radio button does not light up and there is no software facility to enable it. I have downloaded and installed all of the necessary vista updates from the Acer website to no avail. The wireless adapter refuses to initialise and detect any networks.
Fortunately I took a back up of the XP installation and when this is restored the wireless adapter works fine.
The Laptop is an Acer Aspire 5044 WLMi (Couldn't find it in your pick list!!)
Any ideas??
Oblong button doesn't work and we are running xp. Didn't have to do anything before I upgraded the Belkin router.

- I have Vista on my HP dvd6000 laptop and tried to install the wireless adapter. It seems to install and I managed to find the Vista drivers and get them installed. My problem is that during the installation process the software monitor for the adapter did not install at all. Vista seems to pick up the adapter and I am able to use it using the existing wireless software in the system tray as long as the existing wireless adapter is disabled and the new USB LInksys one enabled. Some device may not have Vista drivers or the drivers are still beta and they dont work always perfectly. Check which kind of wireless adapter is present on your laptop from device manager on XP. Then try downloading Vista drivers for your wireless adapter form wireless card factory website, and install them on Vista.
