My sony handycam DCR-TRV340E is not charging at all, dont know if its to do with the battery or the AC power adaptor

First, check that the camera switch is in the off (charging) position.
If this is OK, Check the battery output connections for voltage: use a multimeter.
To check the charger, put a load resistor across the output terminals (about 1000 ti 2000 ohms) and again, using a multimeter, check there is a charging voltage. Alternatively, if the camera operates OK with the charger attached and switched on the charger is OK, AND, the problem is then in the charging circuit from camera to battery. If the battery checks OK as in the beginning, then you will need a Sony repair man who needs to know all the results from your testing above.

Rv510 plugged in but no lights on my laptop

You need to check all of these: 1. External charger, 2. Battery, 3. Internal charger, 4. Software. First, check if the battery is fully charge (or more than 80% charged). Second, use a tested good working battery charger/ac adapter to test your ac adapter (go to local electronic stores and test your laptop with their ac adapters). Third (if your ac adapter and your battery are good), then check your Power Options (click Help and search "power option" if you don't know where it is). If the Power Options is ok, then your motherboard (internal charger) has a problem. You need to bring your laptop to trusted local laptop repair shop.

No power ac or dc IFR 1200 super s

Try another Cord/charger, with the EXACT same power specs, without the battery installed. If it works on the AC/DC cord/charger, replace the battery with a genuine battery with the exact same power specs.

Sony FD mavica will not run on charged battery, will run plugged in to charger

You either have:
1) a false positive on your battery, meaning that they aren't really charged even though they say they are (especially common the older a battery gets), or
2) the battery connection is faulty/dirty, while the AC adapter is fine. If the AC adapter uses the battery port, then the battery is your problem.

When i remove my charger, the laptop turns off.

As lond as the battery is still accepting charge from the charger and will run ok on a battery, I wouldn't worry. Pulling the AC power cord isn't a good idea when the laptop is running anyway.

However, what you describe sounds like a dead battery that will no longer accept a charge. Even a battery showing 100% charged can still fail, as it drains in seconds if dead. What kills most batteries is leaving them in the laptop afetr they have charged and running on ac power.

dv4-1120us Notebook
BATTERY 101
if it runs with no battery , then its ok. see?
(does not prove internal charging chip is ok, see?)
but PC is ok on A/C line so use it. in A/C power.

learn too that letting any battery die flat , can kill it.!
best is to not walk away from any LT , running on battery only.
or risk damaging it. (the laptop tries hard to not do that but is not perfect science ,yet)
read up on cell reversal.. never flat line it on purpose and win !!!

next learn that batteries are short lived..
last a few years others months, that is what batteries do.
even car batteries can fail fast. (ask and old guy that)
all batteries are what I call "weak technology" "fails fast"

or imported from china, and are junk,. many are. so....
I always have 2 batteries, that way , having 2 good batteries
if one dies, its totally obvious, no? whats UP?
i have 2 batteries, too, so when on vacation, I dont go dry, see?
On some longer trips i carry 3, that is what laptops do best.
run with no AC jacks about.

No power, all buttons flash when connected to ac charger

if charger voltage is ok then it could be phones charging controler is not working. if phonebook is only thing you need could recharge battery directly from your charger and then save your phone book. cut off charging plug-connector from your charger make two bare wires and then apply red wire to battery "+" and blck to "-". 5min of charging will be enough to copy your data

My PC won't run with ac /dc power!

Hello. There is a hardware failure with the laptop not the AC charger. AC chargers have some range of protections of their own. If the power requirements of the laptop are bigger then what the charger can handle, the charger will turn off. Also other parameters can bring the charger offline. In your case, you have a problem with a small chip, the battery charge controller unit, witch regulates the amount of current required to propperly charge the battery. When this thing fails, the charging requirements for the battery are reported rong and the AC charger is forced to give more power then necesary. This results in disconnection of the AC charger ( an internal fail safe of the AC charger) and the laptop to swich back to battery power. When the laptop is turned off, it can charge the battery because the power requirements are low, having all processor, main board, hard disk etc turned off. Therefore the AC charger can handle the load. However you will need to have it checked by a service center as it is a hardware fault. Both AC charger and laptop needs that check. The charge controll circuit needs to be replaced probably. It will be a somewhat expensive repair. Don't buy any other battery untill you have the laptop checked. For more aditional info please post back. PS. Sorry for my bad english, I am from Romania, it is pretty hard for me to explain tehnical stuff in english.
