I wanted to watch some movie on my tv s i copied them to my pendrive but when i opened the media player in my tv,it showed the different files in which the movies were in but when I checked the files it said that the files were empty. But only one file had the movie. All the movies were vlc files. I tried to open the files without putting them in any folder. But then to it couldn't detect the videos(vlc) Please help me
There is no such thing as a vlc file, vlc player plays many different file formats, your tv requires the files in a particular codec or format, You will need to reference the Owner's Manual for your unit for further information on compatible file formats.. Make sure the files are encoded in a format the tv understands and that the names have no strange characters and the file extensions are correct. Also make sure your usb drive is formatted in fat32 or ntfs

This turned out to be due to weirdness in my laptop's onboard graphics card. If I set the external monitor to display the way an external monitor usually does, as a clone of the laptop screen, the videos show up blank. But if I set it as dual-screen (extend my desktop to this monitor) and drag the video app onto the second monitor, it works fine.

The TV is tuned to show a frequency and hence like analog and not digital signals. If you covert the output to match that of your TV like NTSC or PAL or SECAM mode then they will be visible on your TV (depend upon your country's specifications)too. Hope this helps....sodeep
(PS There is an option in Nero Software)
