Sounds like the defrost timer has stopped, like a clock,it`s not moving,so the defrost is melting the ice while the compressor is trying to form ice on the coils.Have the defrost timer checked,or replace it.With out being there,it is hard to pin point the problem, but, that is the only sensible reason for this problem. If I can help, let me know

Water is dripping into pan under fridge and overflowing onto floor. looks like water is dripping from filter at bottom. what can i do?

Check to see looks like the container is already full. You have to remove the tray full of water and then insert it again. It will happen again and again ( overflowing water) so you need to periodically check the container pan if water is full.
Also by checking periodically that pan, you will minimize rust build up. You will need to wipe around it with soft cloth or rags so the body of your refrigerator will not decaying due to rust built up. This will destroy the metal parts of the fridge.
Good luck.

Viking 48 leaking water

There is a drain pan heater unless mfr before 2005. Call Viking parts for that heater kit and eliminate that issue . 8004889868

My 3 year old Viking refrigerator starting making really loud noises today...what can I do avoid a repair bill???

If the loud noises sound like a fan blade hitting ice you have a defrosting problem.

You can try unpluging the unit removing the contents then doing a manual defrost with a fan blowing into the unit for a bit over 2 hours then restarting the unit to see if the noise has ceased.

If it is a noise associated with the compressor you can try pushing it gently in it's floating mounts to try and reposition the unit so the vibration absorbers are functioning properly again.

Lastly if it is the condensor fan making noises break out the crevice tool and remove the lint from the coils. If you have pets this is very important.

Sadly if the problem repeats in less than a week after doing the above the dreaded serviceman / repair visit will be required to islolate the cause or source.

Drip pan fills with water

There is a lot of this going on right now with these vikings.Have the defrost timer checked,or replaced. This is what is supposed to defrost the evaporator coils to keep the ice off the coils. But if the timer for the defrost stops, like a clock,it will stay on,and the compressor keeps running and trying to form ice while the defrost is melting it into water, therefore producing way to much water. If I can help, let me know

Lots of water in drip tray

Thats called a SERPENTINE, DRAIN PAN (its part of the refrigeration system i'm sure its fine if temps in the unit are good.. There is a small 24 volt dc motor that you can hookup that will help in evaporating that water. Its in the front small motor with molex plug . You need to locate the molex plug from the motor and then find the other side mounted right around it and connect those together. Let me know if you still have issues because viking has aheater you can install that will help with this.
